061040MINUTES 29 7 CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA,— June 10 7: 30 P m 1940 'eeting called to order by the Chairman. Minutes of regular meetings of �,iay 13th. and 27th, 1940 next read and approved. Current invoices and payrolls for the month of r1i1ey 1940, properly audited and vouchered as evidenced by vouchers los. 2187 thru 2252 , submitted, examined, anproved and payment authorized. Monthly reports of the streets, sanitation, health, water, police, fire, library, golf and recreation departments for the month of May 1940, submitted and examined. Financial statement and statement of revenues and expenditures during the month of may 1940, submitted and examined. Bank statements in all accounts for month of May21940 properly reconciled, submitted and examined. A delegation of ladies representing several of the locr_1 civic organizations, with Mrs Ralph Austin Smith as spokesman, next appeared and offered their services in secur- ing the approval of the hospital project by the 7,ork Projects Administration. Thereupon the Chairman expressed to them the appreciation of the Co;r,mission for their offer and informed them that the hospital project is being sponsored by Seminole County instead of the City. The Clerk next presented an amended :SPA project application covering the construction of a swiihming pool and development of the balance of property in Fort Mellon Park, the total cost of the amended project being -"52,3-0.00 , of which the City's share is $'16,253.00 Thereupon Commissioner Hi -- -,ins moved that the application be approved and the ivIayor and Clerk be authorized to execute same on behalf of the City . Seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried. On motion duly carried, the Co:;:riission next granted permission for the City motorcycle patrolman to escort a motorcade of visitors attending the Methodist Conference beinG held in Sanford to Benson Springs on the afternoon of June 14th. Application next received from H H Jacobs for permit to erect a storage room of metal structure on back of the brick building located on Lot 5 Block 4 Tier 3 at the northwest cornea of L- a=olia Avenue and Third Street and same was granted. Request next received from the Sanford State Farmers' 'Nholesale market for the City to remove two oak trees from the parkway in front of the market's service station, offering to pay the City for expenses incurred in the removal of these trees, and sane was authorized. The followirtapplications for adjustment of taxes for the year 1933 and prior were next received, and on ,Motion duly carried, same were approved as authorized by Resolutions Nos. 573 and 574.
