072440MINUTES el 17 CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, July 24 at 7:30 P M 19 40 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in adjourned session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. July 24, 1940. Present: Commissioner +alter S. Coleman, Mayor. it H.James Gut " Edward Higgins " M.J.Lodge G.E.Rollins City Attorney Fred R. "iilson City Clerk H.N.Sayer. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Consideration next given to a proposition of the National Federation of Post Office Clerks, `+iashington,D.C. to erect one hundred dwelling houses for retired Postal Clerks upon the City owned property in Bel Air Subdivision as follows: The National Federation of Post Office Clerks will agree to erect a minimum of one- hundred dwelling houses upon the City -owned property hereinafter described, before the let. day of October 1941, and will begin the erection of said dwelling houses not later than the let. day of October 1940, said dwelling houses tc cost not less than the sum of $2,500.00 each, and may be erected on the basis of four dwelling houses to the acre. That upon beginning construction of a dwelling house, the City will convey the lot or lots upon which the same is to be erected by good and sufficient warranty deed, free and clear of all incumbrances, if it desires such deed tt said time, and upon the completion of a minimum of one hundred houses as aforesaid, theCity will likewise convey all of the afore- said property not previously conveyed to the National Federation of Post Office Clerks, separately as above provided, notwithstanding the fact that dwelling houses may not have been erected upon all of said property. The .property upon which the aforesaid dwelling houses are proposed to be erected is described as follows: Lots 1121 of Block 1; lots 1125 of Block 2; Lots 1/2,10,12/15, 17/21 of Block 3; Lots 1/14 of Block 4; Lots 1128 of Block 5; Lots 1/24 of Block 6; Lots 1 /10 13/20 of Block 7. Lots 5/9, 14/22 of Block 5; Lots 5/11,17/15,20/23, 25/26 of Block 9�, Lots 1122 and 24 of Block 10; Lots 1 /6, 11/17 of Block 11; Lots 112, 5/22 of Block 12, and Lots 1112, 14/25 of Block 13, Bel Air Subdivision as recorded in Plat book 3 , Page 79 Seminole County Records. Thereupon Commissioner Higgins moved that the proposition of the National Federation of Post Office Clerks be accepted and that the City enter into an agreement with them as outlined above, and the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute same on behalf of the City. Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried. The Commission then proceeded to sit as a Tax Equalization Board in adjourned session to make a further study of the assessed valuations placed on the 1940 tax roll as prepared by the Tax Assessor, after which the meeting adjourned until 1:30 o'clock P.M.
