CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, SnP(Aal_ Meeting Sept. 19 40
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 10:30 o'clock A.M. September 20,1940.
Present: Commissioner Walter S. Coleman, Mayor.

Absent: Commissioner G.E.Rollins.
Meeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that the purpose of the meet-
ing was to consider the purchase of six more parcels of the property lying between 1k1ellon-
ville Avenue and Sipes Avenue and Geneva Street and Thirtieth Street, which has been
offered for sale to H.M.Watson, who is acting as agent for the City to acquire the property
for the proposed aviation field at this location.
Thereupon Mr Watson advised the Commission that the following described properties
containing 193.2 acres could be purchased from Eva E. Smith at a total price of $7,380.00
under a 90 days purchase option at a cost of $125.00 as follows:

Thereupon after careful consideration, Co_,imissioner Higgins moved that H.1.1.71atson
be authorized to secure a 90 days purchase option for the City at a cost of $125.00 from
Eva E.Smith for the purchase of the above described properties at a total cost of
$7,380.00
Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried.
Mr. Watson next advised the Commission that the following described property con-
taining 100 acres could be purchased from the Trustees of the Internal Improvement
Fund of the State of Florida at a price cc $153.00 '
The N W 1/4 of S. E 1/4 and S E 1/4 of S E 1/4 and N 1/2 of N E 1/4 of S.E 1/4
of Section 5 Township 20 South Range 31 East.
Thereupon,Commissioner Higgins moved that H 1A Watson be authorized to make
application to the Trustees of the Internal Improvement Fund of the State of Florida
for the purchase of the aforesaid property for the City at a price of $153-00-
Seconded by Commissioner Gut and Carried.
There being no further business the meeting then adjourned.
