0928403 4 g MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SJ' ANFORD, FLORIDA, Sept--28 at 10:00 -19-40 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the City Hall in the Cit t- of Sanford, Florida, at 10:00 o'clock A.M. September 28, 19+0. Present: Commissioner Walter S. Coleman, Mayor. " H.Jam es Gut " Edward Higgins is M. J. Lodge City Clerk H. N . Sayer. Abesnt: Commissioner G.E.Rollins. Meeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that the purpose of the meeting was to consider an application of Messrs Harris E. Anderson and J. Charles Griffith for a permit to establish and operate a funeral home at 806 East Second Street. Messrs Anderson and Griffith then advised the Commission that they had secured an optic on the property at 806 East Second Street, subject to the approval of the City Commission, also, that they had made a canvass of all the residents within this vicinity and each had expressed their approval of a funeral home at this location. Thereupon Commissioner Higgins moved that a permit be granted 1r. Harris E.Anderson and Per J Charles Griffith to establish and operate a funeral home at 906 East Second Street. Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried. Consideration next given to the Seminole County Chamber of Cormierce moving its office back to the City Hall in the office now occupied by the Work Projects Administration, and the City use the Chamber of Commerce building on the lake front for recreational pur- poses in connection with entertaining winter visitors. Thereupon after considerable discussion, the Commission approved the moval of the Seminole County Chamber of Commerce office to the City Hall as outlined above, and instructed the Clerk to obtain bids for removing the double window in the southeast corner of the wall of the office to be occupied by said Chamber of Commerce, and replace same with a single door with transom, erect steps thereto, and construct a canopy above the door.
