Rollins Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Thereupon the Cornrnission proceeded to canvass the returns of the Municipal Primary Election held on oveinber 5th.,1940 a_s made by the Clerk and Inspectors of said election as follows: For Frank J.Bauer 187 For "gaiter S. Coleman 24Q For ',.R.Iiupree lib For C. Hill 797 For Arthur A Kirchhoff 13 autilated ballots thrown out 24 Total votes cast 1,477 Thereupon Commissioner :gut moved thFt the returns of the Clerk and Inspectors of the luni.cipal Primary election held ,November 5th , 1940 be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Lode and carried. Thereupon ".C.Hill was declared to be the regularly elected nominee for the position of City Commissioner of the City of Sanford, Florida, to be voted upon at the General �iunicipel Llection to be held December 3, 1940- Co:n:rii ssioner Gut next aioved that due t o the extra heavy vote and consequent extra work thEt *17.50 be paid to each of the Inspectors and the Clerk of the I,.unicipal Primary Election held ycvember 5, 1940, and also to 3yrd Jackson Goode for special services and assitance rendered at such election. Seconded by Co_missioner Lod�-e and carried. Coa-miissioner Gut next introduced Resolution No. 563 a.nd after ueino reed in full by the Clerk, moved its passage end adoption. Thet the viayor of the City of enford, lori a, be, end he is hereby authorized to write to the Administrator, on behalf of the City of - anford, Florida, adva.:.ir. thet the City of canford is greatly interested in the possibility of ob- Federa.l taining/aid in financing the development of public airport facilities in or near the City of :anford, and , in this connection, is prepared to furnish eny legal or factual information that may reasonably be requested, is desirous of assisting and cooperating in every way possible in connection with any and all engineering surveys of airports and proposed. airport sites in or near said City of ,anford that the Admini;3trator may wish to make, and will be willing, if an offer of aid in financing the development of public airport facilities in or near said City of anford is rude, to enter into an agreement with the United States, through the Administrator, undertaking, among such other things as may be agreed upon: ( 1) that all title to property end other property interests necessary to prosecution of the project will be acquired by the City of Sanford; ( 2) that the City of Sanford will cooperate with the government in the prosecution of the project; (3) that the aerial approaches of the airport will be pro- tected against obstruction to the fullest extent possible; ( 4) th-t the airport will be operated as an airport during the useful "life of the facilities trlereof established or improved with Federal aid; O that the airport Pnd all its facilities will be maintained in reasonably good condition and kept in good repair; and (0) that the airport will be operated and managed for the use and benefit of the public, on reasonable terms and without unjust discrimination. SECTIO,N 2. That the Mayor, the City Clerk and the City Attorney be and they are directed to make _,such studies as may be necessary to determine what obligations the City of enford could assume, practicElly, financially, and legally, in entering el '1 into an agreement such a.s that referred to in erection 1 hereof, and report thereon to this City Commission as soon as possible. SECTION 3. That the mayor , the City Clerk and the City Attorney be and they are authorized to furnish such legal and factual information to the Administrator as he may reasonably request in connection with c nsideretion of the desirability of an airport project in or near said city of �-anf ord .
