City Attorney Fred R. Gilson.
City Clerk F.S. Lamson
Meeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that the meeting had been called
at the request of focal gasoline dealers and agents to protest against the installation
of gasoline storage tanks of larger that 550 gallon capacity by the Imperial Florida Oil
Company at a gasoline service station being constructed at the northwest corner of
Thirteenth St. and Park Avenue, the use of storage tanks of more than 550 gallon capacity
being prohibited by Section 1 of Ordinance No. 273.
Mr G.W.Spencer, owner of the property on which the service station is being con-
structed, next registered an objection to the enforcement of this section of Ordinance
No. 273 against the service station being constructed on his property, on the grounds of
being discriminatory, calling attetion to the fact that other service stations in
operation prior to the passage of Ordinance No. 273 have storage tanks of more than
550 gallon capacity and Section 1 of such ordinance would apply to such stations as
well as the one now being constructed.
Thereupon, in view of the facts as presented by Mr. Spencer, no action taken.
The meeting then adjourned.
