022139C u 0 1 1 i MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, February 21 at' 2 P M 19_3.q -_ The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 2:00 o'clock P.M. February 21, 1939• Present: Commissioner Edward Higgins, Mayor It Walter S. Coleman if H. James Gut " M.J.Lodge " G.E.Rollins - City Clerk H.N.Sayer Meeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that the purpose of the meeting was to confer with Mr. H.H.Coleman, local manager of the Florida Power & Light Company with respect to revising the street lighting schedule. Also to handle any other business which may come before the Board. The Clerk then presented offer from RCA Manufacturing Co. Inc., to sell a new Mobile Police Radio Transmitter at a price of $200.00 installed, the regular price of this unit being $300.00 plus $25.00 installation charge. Consideration then given to the purchase of this Transmitter for the police night 71 patrol car in view of increasing the efficiency of police protection, and on recommendation of Chief of Police Williams, Commissioner Rollins moved that the transmitter be purchased at a price of $200.00 installed. Seconded by Commissioner Coleman and carried. The Oommission then proceeded to a lengthy study of proposed rates and changes in the street lighting schedule, as submitted by fir. Coleman and Mr. Wright, representatives of the Florida Power & Light Company. After careful consideration and comparison of the proposed rates with the rates now in effect, Mr. Coleman was requested to draft a new contract under the new rate, including the increasing of candle power of certain street lights and submit to the Board for further consideration. Mr. Coleman next requested the Commission to allow him to submit a proposition for furnishing power at the Municipal 'T,'ater Pumping Station for comparison with the present cost of operating the generating plant now in effect.
