The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Called
Session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 2:00 W1clock P.M. August
go 1939.
Present: Commissioner Edward Higgins, Mayor.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Application then received from the St. Johns River Line Company to lease the
E. 53.42 ft. of the City owned property bordering on Lake Monroe and embracing the
concrete retaining wall along said lake, lying immediately west of their dock, together
with all riparian rights, to be used for the purpose to construct an extension to
their present dock building.
Matter taken under consideration.
Mr. H H Coleman, local manager of the Florida Power & Light Company next
appeared and requested the Board to make an adjustment of the assessed valuation in the
amount of $230,000.00 placed on the personal property of the Florida Power & Light
Company for the years 1937,1939 and 1939, claiming the assessment to be far in
excess of the actual inventory value.
Thereupon the Commission proceeded to a. lengthy study and discussion in com-
paring this assessment with other assessed valuations of personal property on the
tax rolls, final action being deferred until a later date.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned.
