091939MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, Sept. 19, 2:00 �P k M. -19-39 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 2:00 o'clock P. M. September 19, 1939• Present : Commissioner Walter S. Coleman " H. James Gut " pt . J. Lodge it G. E. Rollins City Clerk H. N. Sayer Absent : Commissioner Edward Higgins, Mayor In the absence of the Mayor, Commissioner Coleman was designated as Chairman and took the Chair. Meeting was then called to order by the Chairman. Messrs. L. Hawkins Connelly and T. W. Lawton next appeared on behalf of the Fernald- Laughton Memorial Hospital Association and presented the need for financial assistance toward repairs to the hospital building and replacement of equipment in the operating room, and requested that the appropriation for hospital maintenance be increased from $100.00 per month to $200.00 per month for this purpose, in the budget for the next fiscal year. Action deferred pending consideration when preparing the budget for the fiscal year 1939 -1940. Supt. Moughton next reported the need of a truck for the Municipal Golf Course, advising that the old Model T Ford truck had been in service for years and had broken down and due to its obsolescence, was unable to obtain parts for it; also, stated that he had secured prices on used trucks from several of the local dealers and that the Sanford Buick Company is offering a used 1932 Model "A" Ford pickup truck in good condition at a price of $100.00. Thereupon after considerable discussion, Commissioner Gut moved that Supt. Moughton be authorized to purchase this 1932 Model "A" Ford pick -up truck from the Sanford Buick Company at a price of $100.00. Seconded by Commissioner Rollins and carried. The Commission next proceeded to a further study of the budget of revenues and expenditures for the fiscal year 1939 -1940, after which the meeting adjourned until 7 :30 o'clock P. M.
