Wilson City Clerk H, N Sayer Absent: Commissioner Edward Higgins, Mayor. w - ;t in Special Session Noon, December 6, 1939, Municipal Election held In the absence of the Mayor, Commissioner Coleman was designated as Chairman and took the Chair. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Thereupon the Commission proceeded to canvass the ret Election held on December 5th. 1939 for the purpose of electing terms of three years each, commencing with the first Tuesday of January 1940, as made by the Clerk and Inspectors of said electi follows: FOR CITY COMMISSIONER Group No. 1 For Edward Higgins 195 For Col. Charles Lindberg 1 For Frank Bauer 2 FOR COMMISSIONER - Group No. 2 For M.J.Lodge 193 For Charlie McCarthey 1 Mutilated ballots thrown out none Total votes cast 205 Thereupon Commissioner Rollins moved that the returns no of the General Municipal o City Commissioners for the r the first Monday in , said returns being as the Clerk and Inspectors of the General Municipal Election held December 5, 1939 be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried. Thereupon Edward Higgins and M.J.Lodge were certified as the regularly elected City Commissioners of the City of Sanford, Florida, for three year terms each, commencing with the first Tuesday after the AUst Monday in January 1940. On motion of Commissioner Rollins, seconded by Commissioner Gut and carried, payment of $5.00 to each of the Inspectors and Clerk of the General Municipal Election held on December 5, 1939 was neat authorized, after which the meeting adjourned. or.
