06223638 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, June 22 at 7:30 P M 1 g_ 36 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Regular Session CD at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida at 7:30 O'Clock P.M. June 22nd. Commissioner S.O.Shinholser, Mayor. " W.R.Dupree W.A.Leffler M.J.Lodge It P,N.17hitehurst City Attorney Fred R.Xilson Chief of Police R.G.Williams Deputy City Clerk , Ellen Hoy. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Minutes of regular meeting of June 8th. 1936 read and approved. Upon motion duly carried the names of Miss Rebecca. Stevens and Mr. E.B.Stowe were next added to the committee appointed June 8th. to serve in an advisory capacity on beautification of the two municipal cemeteries. Mr. R.L.Glenn next requested use of the auditorium Saturday night June 27th. for a broadcast, known as "Roosevelt Nominator's Night," request granted. A short discussion followed of new projects to be asked for in the recent allotment of government funds for VVPA projects. In this connection the Clerk was instructed to write Mr. O.P.Swope requesting that plans be made up for beautification of City owned park property along the lakeshore west of the Mayfair Hotel. Mr. James Moughton reported that roof of Police and Fire Department annex leaks badly and that the approximate cost of repairing this roof would be $100.00. Upon motion of Commissioner '.thitehurst, seconded by Commissioner Dupree and carried this work was then authorized to be done. Communication next read from the Standard Oil Co. requesting approval of issuance of building permit for erection of gasoline service station and drive —in on Lot 1 Block 1 Tier 4, and on motion duly carried, same was approved, subject to compliance with the building code. City Attorney Wilson next presented one year contract with Marvin H.Smith Re: Airport., action deferred. The Clerk was instructed to acknowledge receipt of letter from the Sanf ord Ministerial Association relative to gambling in Sanford, stating that the Commission will give detailed attention to this matter at the next regular meeting. The meeting then adjourned to meet again at 1 :30 O'clock P.M. June 23th. 1936, and then re— convened as a Municipal Delinquent Tax Adjustment Board, which in turn then adjourned to meet again at 7 :30 O'Clock P.M. June 29th, 1936. atA ),_-t 't , Ma or.
