09163674 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, Sept 16 at 7 :30 P M 19_6 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session: at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 O'clock P.M. September 16, 1936. Present: Commissioner S. 0 Shinholser, Mayor. " W.R.Duprea " W.A.Leffler " M:J.Lodge " P.N.Whitehurst City Attorney Fred R.Wilsom City Clerk F.S.Lamson Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Request then presented from J H Genung, Director, State Farmers' Markets, that the Commission appoint two members to represent the City on the Advisory Marketing Committee for this County. Thereupon, Commissioner Whitehurst moved that Commissioner W.A. Leffler and former Commissioner H.J.Lehman be appointed to represent the City on said Advisory Marketing Committee. Seconded by Commissioner Dupree and carried. City Attorney Wilson next reported alternative writ of mandamus obtained by C.T.Diehl, Kenneth M.,Keefe, A.C.Mittendorf and Natt T.Wagner, representing the City of Sanford Bondholders Protective Committee, through the United District Court for the Southern District of Florida, requiring the City to appropriate in the budget for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1936 and ending September 30, 1937, the sum of $55,000.00 for payment on account of judgments obtained by said Committee, representing past due City of Sanford Bonds and interest coupons. No action considered necessary. Communication next received from Capt. F,S.Feren of the Salvation Army requesting advice as to the handling of indigent transients during the coming year. Thereupon the Clerk was instructed to handle.' as during the past year until further notice, towit: through tickets for meals and beds issued by the Salvation Army and presented at the City hall for Payment. The Commission then proceeded to a study of the tentative budget for the fiscal year 1936 -1937, as prepared by the City Clerk, action being deferred for further con- sideration.
