121736i 1 1 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, Dec .17, at 7:30 P M 19 36 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida., met in adjourned session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 O'Clock P.M. December. 17, 1936. Present: Commissioner S. 0. Shinholser, Mayor. " W.R. Dupree " W.A.Leff ler " M. J. Lodge. If P N Whitehurst. City Attorney Fred R. Wilson City Clerk F. S. Lamson Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Thereupon the Chairman announced that the main purpose of the meeting was to study preliminary report submitted by Mr. A. P Michaels concerning the water plant. Thereupon, Mr. Michaels being present, a thorough study was given to his preliminary report, definite action being deferred pending receipt of the final report. In accordance with requirements of the Works Progress Administration of the Federal Government, Commissioner Dupree next introduced Resolution No. 496, and moved its passage and adoption. Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried by the following vote of the Commission: Commissioner Shinholser Aye " Dupree Aye r' Leffler Aye " Lodge Aye " Whitehurst Aye said Resolution being in words and figures as f ollvws: RESOLUTION No. 496. 1,3 WHEREAS, the City of Sanford has made application to the Works Progress Administration for a project covering certairio repairs and improvements at the Municipal Athletic Field, Serial No. 59- 2 —C -46, WPA No. 59- 10193, and WHEREAS, The City of Sanford, being desirous of having the above project constructed by the Works Progress Administration and whereas this Commission has been advised of the requirements set forth in General Letter Number 48, dated July 11, 1936, signed by Mr. Harry L. Hopkins. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that this Commission_, in adjourned session, hereby agrees that should the Works Progress Administration, for any reason, be prevented from completing the above project, that this Commission will immediately proceed with the work on said project and bring it to such a state of completion that a useful part of the project will be available and the project will not be an eye sore. This Commission further agrees that it is now in a position to furnish the sponsor's contribution as set up on form 301 and, should it be necessary, to also furnish such skilled labor as it not available from the relief rolls. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
