0114371 1 1 1 1 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, January 14, at 7:30 P M 19--U The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in adjourned session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. January 14, 1937. Present: Commissioner Edward Higgins, Mayor. It N.R.Dupree " W.A.Leffler " M.J. Lodge- if P.N.Whitehurst City Clerk F.S. Lamson Meeting called to order by the Chairman. In accordance with request transmitted through the City Clerk Mr. C.A. Holloway, District Sanitary Officer for the Florida State Board of Health, next appeared for the purpose of discussing ways ari' means of improving sanitary conditions, particularly in the negro sections of the City. During the discussion it was brought out that the present Sanitary Toilet Ordinance could be improved upon and Mr. Holloway su- gested that it be amended so as to follow the -State Law, Chapter 7822, Acts of 1919. Thereupon Commissioner Leffler moved that the City Attorney be instructed to pre- pare and present to the Commission at its next meeting, an: ordinance patterned after the State Law governing Sanitary Toilets, to -wit: Chapter 7822, Acts of 1919. Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried. The Commission next proceeded to a study of the report of A.P.Xichaels on the Municipal :eater Supply, particular attention being given to the matter of pumping the water from the wells, both from the standpoint of kind of equipment as well as source of power.
