0414371 C 1 1 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, April 14 12 Oclock Noon, 9- 37 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12 O'C1ock Noon, April 14,1937 for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the Special Municipal Election held April 13, 1937• Present: Commissioner Edward Higgins,LIayor. 11 W.R.Dupree If M. J. Lodge City Clerk F.S. Lamson Absent: Commissioner W.A.Leffler Meeting called to order by the Chairman. The Clerk then reported that J H Tillie and H J Wilson failed to appear to act as Inspectors of the Special Election April 13, 1937, and that J. Beck and W.E. Watson, duly qualified electors of the City�"of Sanford, Florida, had been selected to act as inspectors in their stead. Action approved. Thereupon the Commission proceeded to canvass the returns of the Special Municipal Election held on April 13, 1937•, to elect a City Commissioner to serve the balance of term of P.N.Whitehurst, resigned, as made by theClerk and Inspectors of said Election as follows: For W.A.Leavitt 133 votes For A.W.Lee 316 Votes For J.H.Truluck 151 Votes. Mutilated ballots thrown out 4 Total: votes cast. —604 Thereupon Commissioner Dupree moved that the returns of the Clerk and Inspectors of the Special Municipal Election held April 13, 1937, be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Lodge and carried. Thereupon A.W.Lee was declared to be the regularly elected Commissioner of the City of Sanford, Florida, to serve the balance of the term of P.N.Whitehurst, resigned. On motion duly carried, payment of $5.00 to each of the inspectors and the Clerk of the Special Municipal Election held April 13, 1937, was next authorized, after which the meeting adjourned.
