061837250 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, June 15 at 3 P It .1937 The City Commission, of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special called session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida at 3 o'clock P.M. June 15, 1937• Present: Commissioner Edward Higgins, Mayor. " W.. R. Dupree " A.W.Lee " W.A.'Jeffler " M J Lodge City Attorney Fred R.Wilson City. Clerk F.S. Lamson, Meeting called to order by the Chairman. The Chairman then announced that the meeting had been called to consider the bids received at the meeting of May 11th. 1937, covering the furnishing of 2 - 150 h.p. Diesel Engine Units , 2 -100 K.W.Generators, and 5 turbine pumps, for the Municipal Water Plant, in accordance with specifications prepared by Engineer J.E.Craig. Thereupon, in view of the fact that the bid of Machinery Sales & Equipment Company was incomplete and not in accordance with the specifications, same was thrown out , and consideration next given to Bid of Total price ( Item No. 1) Less allowance for engines, electric motors and compresso Payable: 10 percent of amount Sanford, Florida, and balance all deferred payments to draw Fairbanks, Morse & Co. as follows: 25,572.00 2, 500.00 rs. 3,07 .00 of contract on receipt of machinery in payable in 72 consecutive monthly payments, interest at the rate of 6 percent per annum.. Thereupon the Commission countered with the following proposal which was ac- ceptable to the representative of Fairbanks , Morse & Co., subject to approval by the Company: Total price ( including interest on deferred payments ) $27,669.00 Less allowance for engines, electric motors and compressors 61.25 24)107.72 Payable: Cash $2507.72 and balance of $21,600.00 payable in 72 equal monthly installments of $300.00 without interest. Thereupon Commissioner Leffler introduced Resolution No. 512 and moved its passage and adoption. Seconded by Commissioner Dupree and carried by the following vote of the Commission: Commissioner Higgins Aye n Dupree Aye " Lee Aye " Leffler Aye " Lodge Aye said resolution: No. 512 being in words and figures as follows: RESOLUTION NO. 512. A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING IT TO ENTER INTO A CERTAIN CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SANFORD AND FAIRBANKS, MORSE AND COMPANY FOR THE. PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF TWO DIESEL ENGINES, GENERATORS AND FIVE PUMPS. WHEREAS, the City of Sanford deems it necessary to purchase two 150 HP Diesel Engines, two generators, pumps and auxiliary equipment as more fully described in a proposal dated April 26th, 1937; and WHEREAS, Fairbanks, Morse & Co., manufacturers of the above mentioned equipment will furnish the specified equipment for the sum of Twenty -seven Thousand Six Hundred and Sixty -nine ( $272669.00) Dollars, which amount is to be paid only out n1 [1 1 1 1 I It R 1 1 1 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, June 18 at 3 P . M. —19--37 of the revenues of the Water Plant subject to obligations for Debt Service and Operating expenses, as follows: Two Thousand Five Hundred Seven and 72/100 Dollars;.cash, credit on equipment Three Thousand Five Hundred Sixty -one and 28/100 Dollars, and Twenty -one Thousand Six Hundred Dollars payable in seventy -two monthly payments of Three Hundred Dollars each without interest. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Commissioners of the City of Sanford, Florida: That Edward Higgins , Mayor of the City of Sanford and F.S.Lamson, City Clerk, be and thay are hereby authorized to sign the contract necessary for the pur- chasing of the above described diesel engine generating equipment, pumps etc. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall become effective immediately -upon its passage and adoption.
