120837324 ■ir MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, December fit 12 Noon) 19--37 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in special session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12 O'Clock Noon, December 9th. �93for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the General Municipal Election held December 7th. 1937, as made by the Clerk and inspectors thereof, with Commissioner A.W.Lee, Commissioner W.A.Leffler and City Clerk Lamson in attendance, but in view of the lack of a quorum, immediately adjourned until 12 O'clock Noon, December 9th. 1937. Present: Commissioner Edward Higgins, Mayor. " A.W.Lee " W.A.Leffler City Clerk F.S. Lamson Absent: Commissioner W.R. Dupree " M. J. Lodge Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Thereupon the Commission proceeded to canvass the returns of the General Municipal Election held on December 7th. 1937, for the purpose of electing one City Commissioner for a term of three years commencing with the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January 1939, as made by the Clerk and Inspectors of said election, said returns being as follows: For City Commissioner For Walter S. Coleman 127 votes For Ed. Lane 1 Vote For H.M.Watson 1 Vote Mutilated ballots thrown out 12 Total votes cast 141 Thereupon Commissioner Lee moved that the returns of the Clerk and Inspectors of the General Municipal Election held December 7th. 1937, be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Leffler and carried. Thereupon Walter S. Coleman was certified as the regularly elected City Commissioner of the City of.Sanford, Florida, for the three year term commencing with the first Tuesday after the first Monday in January 1939. On motion duly carried, payment of $5.00 to each of the inspectors and the Clerk of the General Municipal Election held on December 7th, 1937 was next approved, after which the meeting adjourned.
