Lamson Chief of Police R G Williams Absent: Commissioner W.R. Dupree Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Minutes of regular meeting of the City Commission and meeting of the Municipal Delinquent Tax Adjustment Board of December 13th, 1937 read and approved. Application next received for permit to remove trees in parkway adjacent to Lots 4 and 5 Block 9 Tier 4, located at northwest corner of Eighth St. and Park Ave, heretofore approved as a site for a gasoline service station. Permit granted. The Clerk next reported the receipt from Aumend & Co., Toledo, Ohio, for refunding with Series A Refunding Bonds, of Bonds Nos. 1/4 and 26, Series G. with coupons due July 1, 1929 and subsequent attached. Thereupon Commissioner Lodge moved that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to execute Refunding Bonds Series A, Nos 4937 to 4941, both numbers inclusive, and deliver same to Aumend & Co, in exchange for the aforesaid Series G Bonds, Nos 1/4 and 26. Also to deliver to Aumend & Co. in settlement of past due interest to March 1, 1937, on the Series G Bonds, check for $100.00 and five Certificates of Indebtedness for $50.00 each, due respectively July 1, 1938, July 19 19399 July 1, 1940, July 1, 1941, and July 1, 1942. Also to detach the coupons due Sept 1, 1937, from said Refunding Bonds Series A and to pay Aumend & Co. the amount of said coupons , to -wit, $25.00. Seconded by Commissioner Lee and carried. Consideration next given to contract with Randall Electric Co subsequently assigned to the Sanford Atlantic National Bank covering -the purchase and installation of a flood lighting system at the Municipal Athletic Field, under the terms of which $3200.48 is to be paid on or before December 31, 1931, of which amount a balance of $1863.33, together with interest from Sept.18,1937, remains unpaid. Whereupon, upon motion duly adopted, the Clerk was instructed to pay the interest to December 31, 1937, and to arrange an extension of the unpaid balance of principal, it being the intention to pay same from receipts of baseball games during the next season. The Clerk next presented copies of the Audit Report prepared by the firm of Pentland, Gray & Moore, Certified Public Accountants, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 1937• Consideration next given to the matter of the vacancy caused by the death of Special Sanitary Inspector G.H.Brown, and on motion duly adopted, Paul.G.Biggers was appointed to fill this vacancy, said appointment to be effective as of December 17, 1937• Application next received from Jerry Walker for permit to operate a dance hall in Jerry's Arcade on Sanford Avenue, and on motion duly adopted, same was approved. 031 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, December 27 at 7:30 P M _19- 37 On motion duly adopted, the Clerk was next instructed to advertise and purchase under the terms of Chapter 18296, Acts of 1937, State and County Tax Certificates outstanding against the following City owned properties used for Municipal purposes: S.W. 1/4 ( LessRy. and Beg S E Cor Run W. 8.7 ohs. On motion duly adopted bids received at the meeting of December 13th, for installing the plumbing in a proposed " Comfort Station" immediately back of the City Jail were rejected and new bids ordered obtained for this work. Communication next read from H. M Watson, Secretary of the Title Guaranty & Abstract Company of Sanford, advising that if called on to make a search of any parcel of property regardless of the length of time required their charge will be $2.00, and same was received as information.. The Clerk next presented report of third examination of milk from dairies serving the City of Sanford, as made by the Sanford Clinical Laboratories, said report showing all such milk well within the requirements for Grade "A" milk. Request next received from W.C. Hill to be allowed to pay the taxes, as adjusted by the Municipal Delinquent Tax Adjustment Board, against Lot 9 Block 12 Tier H, amounting to $61.23, on the basis of $21.23 at once, $20.00 in January and 20.00 in February, and on motion duly carried same was approved. The meeting then adjourned until 11 o'clock A.M. December 28th. 1937, aftly= which the Board immediately re- convened as _a Municipal Delinquent Tax Adjustment Board.
