Mr. Parker, local manager of the Coc&l� -Cola Company, next offered to construct a booth at the entrance to the Municipal Zoo, to be used as an information booth as well as for the sale of cold drinks etc. Offer accepted with thanks. The Clerk next presented bids received for reroofing the Reservoir and Aerator house at the 'dater Pumping Station, also repairs to the down spouts on the pump house, but.due t4 the fact that only two bids were received, one of which was not according to the specifi- cations as prepared by Architect E.J.Moughton, both bids rejected and the Clerk instructed to obtain new bids. Application next received from A.R. Marshall for permit to remove tree from the parkway in front of his home, described as the S. 28 ft. of Lot 2 and N 112 of Lot 3 Block 11 Tier 3, and on recommendation of Inspector Paxton, same was approved. On motion of Commissioner Lodge , seconded by Commissioner Coleman and carried, the Commission next approved the expenses of,the Mayor and Commissioners to Atlanta to follow up and endeavor to obtain action on the PAPA application heretofore presented for a new pipe line for the water plant, power line from the water plant to Fort Mellon Park, and lighting equipment in the park. Communication next read from City Physician Tolar reporting on an examination of Mrs. Fannie Wilson, of West First Street, supposed to have, fallen as a result of tripping over a broken sidewalk, Ahd same was ordered filed. Application next received from Marion J. Jammes for appointment to a position on the Police Force, 00ad same was referred to Chief of Police Williams. Fire Chief Cleveland next reported good results obtained in abating the smoke nuis- ance from boilers of dry cleaning establishments in the business district, and was in— strutted to keep behind it_p Commissioner Coleman next introduced Ordinance No. 268 entitled: " AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 2 and 184 OF ORDINANCE NO. 133 OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, ENTITLED: " AN ORDINANCE CREATING A BOARD OF PLUMBING COMMISSIONERS ESTABLISHING A PLUMBING CODE FOR THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, PROVIDING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE INSTALLATION OF PLUMBING AND PRESCRIBING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ORDINANCE ", ADOPTED ON THE 28th DAY OF JULY , 1926, said SECTION 2 HEREBY AMENDED RELATING TO THE BOARD OF PLUMBING COMMISSIONERS AND SAID SECTION 184 RELATING TO CONTROL AND SUPERVISION BY THE PLUMBING INSPECTOR." and same was placed on its first reading and read in full by the Clerk. Mr. D.L.Thrasher next appeared on behalf of the Sanford Garden Club requesting the donation of some muck needed in the beautifioatica program of the property lying between k' the Court House and Seminole Boulevard. Batter referred to Supt. Moughton with instructions to cooperate. Chief of Police Williams next requested instructions as to a traffic hazard created by an advertising signboard place in the parkway on the South side of Third Street immediately west of Holly Avenue, the owner of the adjoining property objecting to its removal. Signboard ordered removed.
