Q. 19 38 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in special called session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 11 o'clock A.M. August 16, 1938- Present: Commissioner Edward Biggins,Mayor. " Walter S. Coleman " A.W.Lee " M.J.Lodge City Attorney Fred R. Wilson City Clerk F.S. Lamson Absent: Commissioner W.R.Dupree ( SkcbaedL�n account of sickness.) Meeting called to order by the Chairman who announced that the purpose of the meeting was to consider proposal presented by Hal and Lois G.Wight offering to sell to the City all of Blocks 2, 4, 59 10, 11, 16 and 17 Mellonville, and beginning at the northeast corner of Lot 6 Block 4, Mellonville, run thence north along the west line and the extension north and south of the west line of Block 2, Mellonville, to the low water mark of Lake Monroe, thence westerly along the low water mark of Lake Monroe to the East line of Block B. extended, according to plat of Mellonville, thence south along the said east line of Block B, and the extension of said east line of said block B to the N.W. corner of Block 5, Mellonville, thence east to point of beginning ( described in his proposal as the Lane property), said proposal being as follows: " Lois G. Wight and myself owe the City $12,371.15 on the following ten pieces of property. Lots 1, 2, 3 Block 3 Tier 2 Lot 2 Block 3 Tier 10 Lot 3 Block 3,Tier 7 Lots 3,4,7,8 Block 2 Tier 4 Lot 11 Edgewood S. 40 ft of Lot 3 Blk F Neave's Addition N. 1/2 of Lot 3 Block 11 Tier 6 Lot 8 Block 6 Mayfair North 40 ft. of Lot 2 Blk F Neave's Addition S. 20 f t of Lot 2 and N. 20 f t of Lot 3 Block F Neave's Addition 3t942-56 314.71 09 302.3 77.09 161.36 39.90 193.85 193-85 115 We offer to deed to the City what is known as the Lane property, for a credit memorandum of $3500.00 , to be applied on above listed taxes. It being understood that taxes are to be liquidated 50;6, by September lst, and balance by September 30th., or any un -used part of the credit memo to be forfeited. Taxes are to be paid piece by piece on a basis of 70% cash, and 30% applied on credit memo. Would also desire the City to give me an option to purchase back that part of the Lane Property north of First Street any time within six months for a cash price of $2500.00." Thereupon, after careful consideration and in view of the desirability of that portion of the property to be deeded to the City lying south of First Street as a site for the proposed new Seminole County Hospital, for which the City has agreed to donate a site, the Clerk was authorized to advise Mr. Wight that his proposal would be acceptable to the City if that part having to do with an option to repurchase that part of the Lane property lying north of First street is stricken from such proposal, and if the cash to be paid for the taxes is set at $9,000.00, leaving $3371.15 to be paid for the property to be deeded to the City.
