CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, November 9.12 M.

The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 12 O'Clock Noon, November 9th, 1939;;
for the purpose of canvassing the returns of the Municipal Primary Election held November
Sth, 1938 .
Present: Commissioner M.J.Lodge, Acting Mayor.

Absent: Commissioner Edward Higgins ( Out of City)
" W.R.Dupree ( excused on account of sickness.)
Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
At this time the Clerk read communication from Mayor Higgins designating Commissioner
Lodge as Acting Mayor during his absence from the City.
Thereupon the Commission proceeded to canvass the returns of the Municipal
Primary Election held on November 8th, 1935, as made by the Clerk and Inspectors of
said election as follows:

Thereupon Commissioner Coleman moved that the returns of the Clerk and Inspectors of
the Municipal Primary Election held November 8th, 1938 , be accepted.
Seconded by Commissioner Lee and carried.
Thereupon H.James Gut was declared to be the regularly elected nominee in Group No 1.
and George E. Rollins the regularly elected nominee in Group No. 2 for the position of
City Commissioner of the City of Uanf ord, Florida, to be voted upon at the General
Municipal Election to be held December 6th. 1938.
Commissioner Coleman next moved that due to the extra heavy vote and consequent
extra work that $7.50 be paid to each of the inspectors and the Clerk of the Municipal
Primary Election held November 8th, 1938.
Seconded by Commissioner Lee and carried.
The meeting then adjourned.
