CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA_- March 16 at g P M. 19_1
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida , met in Special Session
at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at 8 010look P.M. March 16, 1931.
Present: Commissioner T.L . Dumas, Mayor.

City Attorney Fred R.Wilson
City Clerk, F.S.Lamson
Absent: Commissioner V.A.Speer.
Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
The Clerk then announoed that the meeting had been called for the purpose of appointi
a successor to Municipal Judge.W.E.White, deceased; also to consider proposed bills to be
presented to the Florida State Legislature at the coming session for passage.
Thereupon the Clerk read applications from Mr. R.W.Ware and Mr. S.A.BWilkinson for
appointment to the position of Municipal Judge.
Commissioner Leffler next presented the oral application of Mr. O.P.Herndon, and Com-
missioner Lehman presented the oral application of Mr. W.E.Mallem and Mr. J.G.Sharon, Jr.
Commissioner Leffler then nominated Mr. O.P.Herndon for appointment as Municipal
Judge, and Commissioner Byrd nominated Mr. R.W.Ware
There being no other nominations, the roll was called, the vote standing as follows:
For Mr. O.P.Herndon :

For Mr. R.W.Ware:
Commissioner Dumas

After further discussion of the matter, the roll was again called, the vote still
being a tie as follows:
For Mr. 0. P . Herndon :

On the third vote, however, Mr. Wore was appointed as Municipal Judge, the vote being
as follows:
For Mr. O.P.Herndon
Commissioner Leffler.

The Commission next proceeded to consider various bills to be introduced at the coming
session of the Florida State Legislature, final action being postponed until the next regular
meeting of the Commission to be held on March 23rd., at which meeting the representatives
from this district will be a6ked to be present.
Request next received from Special Counsel Lucien H.Boggs for expense money to the
amount of $300.00 to cover cost of trip to New York City in oohneotion with the suit of the
City of Sanford versus the Chase National Bank of New York, and on motion duly adopted
said request was ordered complied with and this expenditure authoitized.
