0330311 1 1 1 1 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, March 30 at 8 P M 19--3-1 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at g OClock PM. , March 30, 1931. Present: Commissioner T.L.Dumas, Mayor " W.A. Leffler N H.J.Lehman " 0.A.Byrd City Attorney Fred R.Wilson City Clerk, F.S.Lamson Absent : Commissioner V.A.Speer. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. The Chairman announced that the purpose of the meeting was to consult with representa- tives of the Florida Power & Light Company with a view to reducing the cost of street lights in the City of Sanford. After consideration of various proposals submitted by both parties to the discussion and after the representatives of the Florida Power and Light Company had stated their in- ability to change the contract prices now in effect for street lighting, Commissioner Lehman moved that fifty -seven street lights embodied in a schedule prepared by Commissioner Byrd be discontinued as of April lot for atone week's trial. Seconded by Commissioner Leffler and carried. Commissioner Byrd did not vote on this motion. The representatives of the Florida Power & Light Company then signified their willing- ness to the discontinuance of the aforesaid fifty seven lights which would result in an approximate saving of $112.00 per month to the City. A committee from the Sanford Golf Club next appeared with reference to the continuation of monthly payments towards the maintenance of the municipal golf course for the year begin- ping April 19 1931. Action deferred pending conference with representatives of the Bond Holders Protective Committee. Police Officer R.L._Kennedy next requested that the Commission allow him to retain his position on the Police Force provided he sleeps and eats in the City limits, although his family remains at their home outside of Sanford. Request refused as not complying with the terms of the Charter . The City Attorney next presented two partial satisfactions of judgment received from. C.T.Diehl, et al, Case No. 2351 -T, for $206.53 and $31,625.00 respectively, the first repre- senting error made in the original amount set up is this judgment, and the second representing payment made by the City on account of this judgment under date of March 6th. 1931, and same were ordered delivered to the City Clerk for transmittal to the Clerk of Court at Tampa, Florida, at a later date, together with other satisfactions of a similar nature to be received by the City from time to time.
