063031f' 1 1 1 .�p MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, June 30 at 9 P.M. 1 gam_ 373 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida , at 8 O'Clock P.M. June 30, 1931. Present: Commissioner T.L.Dumas, Mayor. it V.A.Speer " C.A.Byrd. City Attorney Fred R.Wilson City Clerk F.S. Lamson Absent: Commissioner W.A.Leff ler. if H.J.Lehman Meeting called to order by the Chairman. n The Clerk next presented to the Commission tentative budget for the year 1931- 1932, based upon the revenues and expenditures during the fiscal year 1930 -1931, and same was taken under consideration and action at a later date. Request next received from Messrs. DeCottes and Boggs for an additional payment on account for services rendered in the suit in the New York Courts of the City of Sanford versus the Chase National Bank. Thereupon Commissioner Speer moved that Messrs DeCottes and Boggs be paid the additional $2500.00 to which they are entitled under the terms of paragraph seven of their Agreement with the City. Seconded by Commissioner Byrd and carried. Communication next read from Associate Counsel DeCottes with reference to decis- ion reached by the Commission at its last meeting that the services rendered in the C-_zase National Bank suit in the Florida courts by Iiessrs DeCottes and Boggs are covered by their contract. Thereupon the Clerk was instructed to notify Mr. DeCottes that no legal talent was employed in this matter and that the decision reached was based strictly on common sense. Instructions were next issued that the Delinquent Real Estate Tax Roll for the year 1930 should be POSTED in accordance with the terms of the Charter. Three communications next read from Mr. F.L.Miller, protesting against the issuance of tax certificate against or the sale for unpaid taxes or any other assessments of Lot lA Seminole Heights, the E. 112 of Blk. 65 and all of Blk 66, M.M. Smith's Subdivision, and lot 55 Pine Heights, and same were ordered acknowledged with a statement that the Com- mission has no information in regard to the illegality of the City limits, as extended, except such information-as has been obtained from press reports. Commissioner Byrd next moved that the City Attorney be instructed to investigate and if necessary to prepare bill to be introduced at the Extra - ordinary Session of the Legislature convening July 7�h, curing any defects in the Legislation defining the present City Limits and validating all liens and special assessments which might be construed as having been improperly levied due to such defects. Seconded by Commissioner Speer and carried. The Clerk was next instructed to notify the Sanford Atlantic National Bank that I I the Commission does not feel that the rate of interest on City deposits in said bank should be decreased from 1 -1/2 per cent to 1 per cent, after which the meeting adjourned to meet again at S O'Clock P.M.
