113031L 1 1 1 u MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, November 30, at 7030 '19,U— The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at 7 :30 O'clock P.M. November 34th. 1931. Present: Commissioner T.L.Dumas, Mayor. " W.A.Leffler " H J Lehman " V.A. Speer " C.A.Byrd. City Attorney Fred R.Wilson City Clerk F.S.Lamson Meeting called to order by the Chairman. 437-- Request received from Mr. Ralph Wight to construct private airplane hangar on the new Municipal Aviation Field, but action was deferred pending receipt of report from the Aviation Committee. On motion duly adopted, the Mayor and Clerk were next authorized and instructed to execute lease on behalf of the City of Sanford, with Mr Richard D.Cook, for the use of the Sanford Yacht Club Building to be used for restaurant purposes, for a period of two years from December let, 19319 at an annual rental of $300.00 payable in City of Sanford bonds, the full two year's rental to be paid in advance at the time of the execution of the lease. The Clerk next presented to the Commission design of a proposed munioipal flag as originally submitted by the order of Red Rose, with certain changes as recommended by a Committee of the Chamber of Commerce, and on motion duly adopted, said flag was ordered adopted as the official flag of the City of Sanford, Florida. The Commission next proceeded to consider the report of the Special Committee ap- pointed to investigate the electricity rates charged in the City of Sanford by the Florida Power & Light Company. Being advised that Mr. Fred T.Williams, Chairman of the Special Committee to in- vestigate electric rates, performed the actual work in this investigation, Commissioner Leffler next moved that the City pay to Mr. Williams the sum of $50.00 and extend to him the thanks of the Commission for this very complete report; also that the Committee be requested to submit to the City at the earliest possible moment their recommendation as to what reason- able rates for electricity would be. Seconded by Commissioner Lehman and carried. The meeting then adjourned. Attest: City Clerk. Mayor.
