MINUTES
CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, June 1, at 8 P M. 19 31
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned Session at the
City Hall at Sanford, Florida, at Bight 010look P.M. June 1, 1931.
Present: Commissioner T.L.Dumas, Mayor.

City Attorney Fred R.Wilson
Absent: Commissioner W.A.Leffler.
Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Commissioner Speer moved that the Water Department be authorized to purchase new
Ford Truck and that the Fire Chief fIs Roadster, now out of service , be turned in as part
payment.
Seconded by Commissioner Byrd, but failed to carry, the vote being as follows:

After discussion of the speed of motor Vehicles on Park Avenue, the Mayor was author-
ized to instruct the Chief of Police to enforce the speed traffic laws.
Mr H.M.Papworth neat appeared in the interest of Mr Jimmie Howard, and on motion
duly adopted, permission was granted for Mr Howard to establish a peanut and popcorn stand
on the parkway adjacent to the Bell Cafe on Park Avenue.
In view of the inability of Mr J.H.Colclough to serve as Clerk of Special Charter
Amendment Election to be held on June Sth. Mr. R.W.Pearman Jr. was neat appointed to serve
in that.capacity.
City Attorney Wilson neat stated that information as to the condition of the title
to the land between the Mayfair Hotel and the oross street immediately east of Sanford Ave.
could be obtained from the Abstract of Title Company for $30.00
Thereupon Commissioner Speer moved -that the City Attorney be authorized to obtain
this information. Seconded by Commissioner Byrd and carried.
The meeting then adjourned.
