CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA,
October 20 at 4 P.M.

The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Called Meeting
at the City Hall in Sanford, Floirid.a, at 4 O'Clock P.M. October 20, 1930.
Present: Commissioner H.J.Lehman, Mayor.

Absent: Commissioner R.A.Newman
Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
The Chairman then announced that the meeting had been called for the purpose of
completing the proposed revision of the occupational license tax ordinances.
Thereupon, the City Attorney was instructed to prepare Ordinances for passage at

the next Regular Meeting of the City Commission embodying the following occupational license
taxes, said occupational license taxes to be effective for the fiscal year beginning Oct 1.

Commissioner Speer next moved that the City contribute $50.00 towards the expense
of the Florida Citizens Finance and Taxation Committee, this Committee having been appointed
by the Governor to investigate conditions'in Florida and to find some way of reducing taxes
as well as making changes for economy in the State and County Government, no provision:having
been made to cover the necessary expense of this Committee, however, and $100.00 being assess
ed aginst this Community as its proportionate share.
Seconded by Commissioner Miller and carried.
The Clerk next presented proposition submitted by W.Austin Smith, Consulting Engin-
eer, of Jacksonville, concerning investigation and recommendation with a view to bettering t
water supply of the City of Sanford, but no action was taken pending further donsideration. of
the matter.
