The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Adjourned Session
at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at 1 :30 O'Clock P.M. September 9, 1930.
Present: Commissioner H.J. Lehman, Mayor

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
The purpose of the meeting was to confer with Mr Clyde Byrd, Manager, Florida
Power A Light Co. with reference to reduction in cost of street lights in the City of
Sanford; also to consider revision of occupational license taxes.
Mr Byrd appeared before the Commission and ways and means were discussed with
him looking towards a reduction in the present cost of street lighting and at the same time
an increase in the number of lights furnished.
Commissioner Miller then offered the motion that the Florida,Power & Light Company
be oommunioated with, advising them that under the new budget sufficient money will not be
available for street lights under the present arrangement, and requesting that the Florida
Power & Light Co. enter into a new contract with the City increasing the present number of
lights to 600 at a cost to the City not to exceed $10,000.00 per annum.
Seconded by Commissioner Leffler and carried.
The Commission next proceeded to consider revision of certain license taxes, as a
result of which the following changes were decided upon:

Further consideration of occupational licenserevision was then postponed until a
The Chairman having been excused Commissioner Speer moved that Mr. Miller assume

Commissioner Speer next moved that the meeting adjourn.
