121230�1 1 L -7 C MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, December 12, 7:30 P M 1 g 30 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida , met in adjourned regular session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida at 7 :30 O'Clock P.M. December 12, 1930. Present: Commissioner H.J.Lehman, Mayor. " V.A.Speer " F.L. Woo druff City Attorney Fred R.Wilson City Clerk, F.S.Lamson Absent: Commissioner W.A. Leffler " R.A.Newman Meeting called to order by the Chairman. On motion of Commissioner Woodruff, seconded by Commissioner Speer and carried, permission was granted the Independent Merchants Association to _close Magnolia Avenue between First and Second Streets, and First Street between Park and Palmetto Avenue on the evening of December 23rd. for the purpose of conducting the drawings for the prizes offered in the cam- paign for better business. Communication read from W.W. Thompson concerning the possible use of Hotel Forrest Lake, recently acquired'by the City, as a Yacht, Fishing and Hunting Club. Action deferred until next regular meeting of the Commission. In view of the fact that the City is required to re- assess for 1930, all real prop- erty bn.the 1927, 1928 and 1929 tax rolls on which the taxes for those years were not paid, at the respective millages of the said years, the Commission next designated December 18th, 1930, 7 :30 O'Clock P.M. as the time when the City Commission, sitting as an Equalization Board, would meet to hear any complaints or objections as to the valuations of such property, or otherwise, and the Clerk was instructed to advertise this meeting in the Sanford Herald. Authority was next granted to re- purchase for the Sanitary Department, to replace True destroyed by fire, one Ford Model T. Truck heretofore delivered to the White Highleyman Company as part payment on purchase price of Chevrolet Truck, authorized by the City Commission under date of September 22nd. 1930.at a price of $50.00 The meeting then adjourned, to meet again at 7:30 O'Clock PA/D, 46mber 18, 1930.
