ADJOURNED MEETING OF CITY COMMISSION
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the
City Hall in Sanford, Florida at 7 :30 O'Clock P M January 16, 1930.

The purpose of the meeting was the discussion of various-matters concerning the
City of Sanford, particular attention being given to the matter of the campaign against the
Fruit Fly. Re- organization of the Sanford Chamber of Commerce; and completion of Seminole
Boulevard from Myrtle Avenue west to the Lake Monroe Bridge.
Mr Clyde Byrd, President of the Chamber of Commerce notified the Commission that
Miss Powell, who has been handling the routine affairs of the Chamber of Commerce without
pay since the resignation of the former Secretary of that Organization, would not be
able to continue on this basis, and requesting that the City pay Miss Powell to continue in
this work until the re- organization of the Chamber of Commerce can be effected.
Commissioner Newman moved that the City employ Miss Powell to carry on the routine
together with any other work that the City may have need for her services,
work of the Phamber of Commerce /for a period of two months at a salary of $50.00 per month.
Seconded by Commissioner Leffler and adopted by the following vote:

The Chairman next appointed Commissioner Leffler, Commissioner Speer and Engineer
Fred T Williams as a Committee of three to confer with John Meisbh , Chairman of the Board
of County Commissioners, and also with the authorities of the State Road Department, with
a view to the completion by the State Road Department of Seminole Boulevard along the Lake
Shore from Myrtle Ave to the Lake Monroe Bridge, this road , when completed to be
a connecting link oILL State Highway No. 3 between the Lak-
Sanford.
