CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, February 24 7=00 P M 1930-_
The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida met in Regular Session at the City
Hall, in Sanford, Florida , at 7:30 P M. February 24, 1930.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Minutes of Regular Meeting of February 10th., adjourned meeting of February 17th, and
adjourned meeting of February 21st, 1930, read and approved.

Commissioner Miller next made the motion that in order to facilitate traffic at the int-
ersections of Park, Magnolia, Palmetto and Sanford Avenues with First Street, that the regu-
lations be amended to as to allow traffic making a left hand turn at these intersections, to
pass to the left of the central markers, and that approvpriate lines and arrows be painted
on the streets at these points directing traffic in the proper -I.-directions.
Seconded by Commissioner Leffler and adopted by the unanimous vote of the Commission.
Letter read from Mr E.B.Randall, requesting permission to pay City taxes, licenses, and
paving assessments with City of Sanford Refunding Bonds which he owns.
Commissioner Newman moved that this letter be referred to the City Attorney for attention
and reply.
Seconded by Commissioner Miller and unanimously adopted.
Communication read from the Chas. B. Hawley Engineering Corporation requesting advice
as to the deliverability of bonds of various issues listed in said communication under the
terms of their contract to purchase the City of Sanford Gas Plant.
Mr. Miller moved that the matter be deferred until the next meeting.
Seconded by Commissioner Newman and unanimously adopted.
Communication read from Mr F H Stearns claiming damages on account of collision between
his car and fire truck on West First Street on the night of December 29th . 1929
Commissioner Miller moved that the letter be referred to Mr. W.J.Thigpen, agent of the
Insurance Company in which insurance on the fire trucks is carried.
Seconded by Commissioner Newman and unanimously carried.
Commissioner Miller next moved that the request of property owners on Palmetto Avenue
between Geneva St. and Woodruff St. be complied with and an overhead light be installed
in this block, it appearing that there is no light at,this location at present.
Seconded by Commissioner Newman and unanimously carried.
The Clerk was next instructed to take this matter up with the Florida Power & Light Co.
and request that this -light be installed.
The next matter for consideration was the possibility of the City to recover a portion.
of its money on deposit in the Seminole County Bank at the time of closing.
After considerable discussion, Commissioner Newman moved that the matter be referred to
the City Attorney for investigation.
Seconded by Commissioner Miller and unanimously carried.
On motion of Commissioner Leffler, Seconded by Commissioner Speer, and unanimously

curried, G.P.Paxton, employed in the capacity of Sanitary, Building, Plumbing and Electrice
Inspector, was ordered to make weekly inspections of all street lights, also to take such
steps necessary to enforce payment of delinquent sanitary taxes and delinquent water bills.
The next subject for consideration was that of re- opening the matter of an appli-
cation for permit to construct filling station on the Southeast corner of Third St.
and Park Avenue.
After considerable discussion, Commissioner Leffler moved that no more filling eta -
tiow permits on Park Avenue be granted until the present permits outstanding are utilized.
Seconded by Commissioner Speer and adopted by the following vote:
