The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at Two O'Clock P.M. R.Wilson City Clerk, F•S.Lamson Chief of Police , R.G.Williams Meeting called to order by the Chairman Minutes of Regular Session of May 26th, Adjourned Session of May 27th., Adjourned Session of June 2nd, and Adjourned Session of June,4th. 1930 read and approved. Current Invoices and Payrolls for the month of May 1930, properly audited and vouchered by the Accounting Department, as evidenced by vouchers Nos. 2672 to 2743 Incl., and_No. 2745, submitted, examined, approved and the Clerk ordered to draw checks in payment of same. Monthly reports of the streets, sanitation, health, water and library departments, for the month of May 1930, submitted, examined and ordered filed. Financial Statement and statement of revenues and expenditures during the month of May 1930, submitted, examined and ordered filed. Bank statements in all accounts, properly reconciled, submitted and examined. In accordance with instructions heretofore issued by the Commission, the Golf Committee of the Chamber of Commerce presented by: numbers only bids received from respon- sible firms for re— covering Club House at the Golf Course. After a consideration of the various bids, together with the material to be used and the work to be done, and it appearing that Bid No. 3 was the best one received, Commissioner Newman moved that in view of the fact that this Club House is City property, that the City stand the cost of both material and labor for these repairs, and that the Number 3 bid of $435.00 for the entire work be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Speer and carried. Thereupon the contract was ordered let to Chase & Co., the No. 3 bidder. CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, June 9 2 P M. 19--30 Lots 9,10, and 11 of Block 3, Fairview, Mr Russell stating that when paying the 1927 taxes against his property he did not intend that these three lots should be omitted. In view of the fact that the burden for paying taxes against any property does not rest upon the City but upon the property owners, Mr Russells request could not be granted and the Clerk was instructed to notify him to that effect. The Clerk was next instructed to notify the Eureka Fire Hose Co, and the American LaFrance Fire Engine Co, that notes of the City of Sanford held by these companies totalling respectively $1898.40 and $5225-00, will be paid upon being sent to the Sanford Atlantic National Bank, provided all accrued interest is cancelled. The Clerk next presented Surety Bonds for $10,000.00 each, executed by Bond Trustees F.L.Woodruff, W.L.Cooper and R.B.Wight, and same were approved. On motion duly adopted, bill of the Sanford Atlantic National Bank for $7.99 covering telegraphic charges and express charged in connection with payment of interest coupons due July lst, 1929,and Jan 1, 1930, was approved and payment ordered. Commissioner Leffler next made the motion that the Sanitary Inspector be instruct to make a list of all dwellings adjacent to, but which have not been connected to sanitary sewers,,.and to turn this list over to the Police Department to proceed in accordance with Article E, Section 9, Ordinance Uo. 133. Seconded by Commissioner Miller and carried. On motion of Commissioner Leffler, seconded by Commissioner Speer and carried, invoice of Hall & Pentland, amounting to $95.31, covering investigation of time warrants ordered by Special Counsel DeCottes and Boggs, was ordered paid. Request received from Mr. A.L.Rosier to move f illing station located on Lot 29 Gracelinq Court, and facing on West First Street, North approximately seven feet. Commissioner Speer moved that permit be granted for Mr. Rosier to move the building on his own property. Seconded by Commissioner Miller and carried. Communication read from George L.Hoy stating his unwillingness to lease City owned farm property in St. Gertrude`s Addition at .a yearly rental of $500.00 On motion duly adopted, and after comparison of bids received from L B.Hodgins and James H.Cowan, bid of L.B.Hodgins for $35.00 to replace present gutter on water pumping station with 15 inch Armco Ingot Iron Gutter of #26 Gauge, painted inside and outside with two coats of red lead, also to lrun one downspout from gutter to sewer, wapApoepted. The meeting then adjourned. Commissioner Miller Introduced an Ordinance entitled: " All ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF INSTALLMENTS OF MONEY TO THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA , TO BE APPLIED TO THE PAYMENT OF OBLIGATIONS DUE OR TO BECOME DUE SAID CITY BY THE PARTY OR PARTIES SO DEPOSITING SAID MONIES AND TO PROVIDE ":FOR THE CUS- TODY AND APPLICATION OF SUCH MONIES BY SAID CITY OF SANFORD." Thereupon said Ordinance was placed upon its first reading and read in full by the Clerk. Commissioner Miller next introduced an. Ordinance entitled: 0 AN ORDINANCE MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY OWNER OR DRIVER OF ANY MOTOR VEHICLE, OR TRAILER TO PERMIT ANY PERSON OR PERSONS TO RIDE THEREON WITH HIS HER OR THEIR LEG OR LEGS HANGING OVER THE SIDE OF XCH MOTOR TRUCK, OR TRAILER, WHILB AUCH MOTOR TRUCK, OR TRAII ER IS BEING DRIVEN UPON ANY OF THE STREETS, AVENUES OR ALLEYS OF THE CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, AND TO PROVIDE A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION HEREOF." Thereupon said Ordinance was placed upon its first reading and read in full by the On motion duly adopted, instructions were issued that the Silent Police lights at tUe intersections of Park, Magnolia, Palmetto and Sanford Avenues with First Street be removed. Commissioner Miller next made the motion that the City Commission ask for bids for re- grading, re- laying and widening Park Avenue between First Street and Second Street from the pr esent curb to the White Way Post Line, also re- laying of brick at intersection of Second Street and Park Avenue, any work that might be done to be contingent upon the property owners in this block agreeing to widen the present sidewalk to the new street line,
