052730I" . 0 � 206, MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, _ftr`' ?7 3 P.M. i 9 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at Three O'Clock P.M., May 27th, 1930. Present: Commissioner H.J.Lehman, Mayor. N F.L.Miller N W. A. Lef f ler N R.A.Newman City Attorney , Fred R.Wilson City Clerk, F.S. Lamson Chief of Police, R.a.Williams Absent: Commissioner , V.A.Spser Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Communication read from Special Counsel DeCottes, inclosing bill for $2,000.00 covering professional services rendered by Messrs DeCottes and Boggs in the suit of M.H. Ashcraft, Receiver, Seminole County Bank, to collect on purported Time Warrant of the City of Sanford, Florida, numbered 90291 , dated Nov. 16, 1926, for the principal sum of $51,500.00 this case having been recently dismissed. In view of the fact that this same time warrant is now the basis of a suit brought by Seminole County against the City of Sanford, Florida, the Clerk was instructed to request of Mr. DeCottes a statement of the total charges to date of Messrs DeCottes and Boggs on account of said time warrant No. 9029 Communication read -from Sepoial Counsel Boggs, inolosing itemized statement showing disbursement of expense money advanced him from November 14th 1929, to date, and same was ordered filed. On motion of Commissioner Leffler, seconded by Commissioner Newman and carried, invoice of Special Counsel DeCottes covering additional expense incurred by him in the suit of the City of Sanford Vs. the Chase National Bank, amounting to 0360.26, was approved and payment ordered. On motion duly adopted, #7.84 of the 1927 Personal Tax of E.M.Carroll was ordered r cancelled due to over - assessment, same being recommended by Deputy Tax Collector M.D.Tarbell. The Chairman neat appointed Commissioner Leffler as a committee of one to in- vestigate the matter of group insurance for City employees.. On motion of Commissioner Leffler , seconded by Commissioner Newman and carried, salary of Miss Charlotte Smith, Office Clerk, Utility Department was ordered placed at $1500.00 per annuls, effective June 1st. 1930. �- The meeting then adjourned to meet again at Three O'Clock Attest: City Clerk.
