0707302-2 MINUTES . CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, July 7th, i 9 30- The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in regular annual session at the City Hall inSanford, Florida, at 7 :30 P. M., July 7, 1930. Present: Commissioner H. J. Lehman, Mayor. " W. A. Leffler " R. A. Newman " V. A. Speer Attorney L. F. Boyle for City Attorney Wilson City Clerk F. S. Lamson Chief of Police R. G. Williams Absent: Commissioner F. L. Miller. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Minutes of adjourned session of June 30th and adjourned session of July lst, 1930, read. Commissioner Speer moved that the approval of these minutes be waived until the next regular meeting of the City Commission. Seconded by Commissioner Newman and carried. Commissioner Leffler next moved that the City Commission notify the Bond Holders Pro- tective Committee that before the City can legally accept its letter presented under date of June 30th, the Commission will have to know the names and addresses of those whom this Committee represents. Seconded by Commissioner Newman and carried. The Clerk next presented preliminary Tax Roll of the City of Sanford, Florida, for the year 1930. Thereupon the Commission proceeded to sit as an Equalization Board to hear any complaint or objections as to the valuations as given on said tax roll, or any objection or complaint of any nature. Thereupon the following complaints as to valuation, which were taken under considerati were filed with the Commission: L.M.Leinhart Jas. A. Sheppard Jae. Edwards Lots 10 & 11 Block C, Buena Vista Estates Valuation $200.00 ea-Claims too high. Mrs. H. M.Edwards Lots 9 & 21 Boyd's Subdiv. Val. $1350.00 Claims too high. Mrs. H. M. Edwards Lot 3 Blk 12 Tr 5 Valuation $1950.00 Claims too high. Mr. Hal Wight next appeared before the Commission again with reference to livery stable located at South West corner of Cypress Avenue and First St. No action. Communication read from Attorney Geo. A• DeCottes concerning proposed destruction of uncompleted apartment house building on the East side of Park Avenue between 9th and 9th Sts., Commissioner Newman moved that the City proceed to demolish this structure in accordance with the terms of Resolutions Nos. 399 and 390. Seconded by Commissioner Leffler but failed to carry, the vote being as follows: Commissioner Lehman Nay " Leffler Aye Newman Aye " Speer Nay C 1 1 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA,__ July 7, 1930. 19 223 Commissioner Newman next made the motion that the Chairman appoint a Committee to take under consideration, in conjunction with Attorney's Wilson and Landis, and make recommendation, the matter of the possibility and advisability of the City accepting Sanford bonds in payment of past due City of Sanford taxes. Seconded by Commissioner Leffler and carried. Thereupon the Chairman appointed the Commission as a whole, together with H. M. Papworth, F. L.Woodruff and W. L. Cooper, as A Committee to consider this matter. The Commission next proceeded to further consider the budget for the year 1930 -1931, after which the meeting adjourned. Attest: City Clerk.
