0203361 C 1 1 MINUTES CITY' COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, February 3, 7:30 P M r1,9J6 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida , met in adjourned session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida.,'at 7:30 O'Clock P.M. Lamson Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Request received from the 10r'PA officials for approval by the City of the transfer of $2195.50 from materials to labor in the Sewer Project, the reason for the transfer being thst no further pipe will be manufactured and the transfer of the unused material item to labor will make it possible to lay that much more of the pipe. Request granted and the Clerk instructed to notify the WPA officials to that effect. In connection with WPA projects under way, consideration next given to the possiblity of a reduction in the number of unskilled workers on such projects during the farmers busy season in order to prevent a labor shortage during that period. Thereupon the Clerk was instructed to handle with the IPA officials with a view to obtaining a 50 percent reduction in the number of unskilled workers used on the Park Avenue and First Street paving projects after the end of the present week. Consideration next given to the operation of the Municipal Delinquent Tax Adjustment Board, as authorized by Resolution No. 483, after which the Clerk was instructed to prepare the proper advertisement and application forms, the first meet- ing to be held immediately after the Regular Meeting of February 10th, 1936. In connection with the care of the Municipal Cemeteries, the Commission next ordered that the position of Superintendent be abolished and that the care and maintenance of the cemeteries be placed under the jurisdiction of Street Superintendent Moughton. The Clerk next advised the Commission that as a result of a conference with representative of the manufacturer of the large clock stationed at the intersection of First Street and Park Ave., it had been determined that approximately $175.00 would be required to install the necessary new parts to make the clock operate satisfactorily. Thereupon, in view of the fact that this clock which was originally erected by the Independent Merchants Association is considerable of an asset to the City, expenditure approved. Commissioner Shinholser next reported on the condition of the Sanford Municipal Library, it appearing that this building is badly in need of repairs, and that approx- imately $300.00 would be needed to protect it from the weather. Thereupon Commissioner Leffler moved that the expenditure of $300.00 be author- ized for this purpose, the work to be under the supervision of Supt. Moughton.
