011336478 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, Jan 13 at 7:30 P M 19 36 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in regular session at the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 O'Clock P.M. January 13, 1936. Present: Commissioner T.L.Dumas., Mayor. to W.R. Dupree to S. 0. Shinholser It P. Iii . Whi tehurst City Attorney Fred R.Wilson City Clerk F. S. Lamson Chief of Police R.G. Williams Absent: Commissioner W.A.Leff ler Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Current invoices and payrolls for the month of December , 1935 properly audited and vourchered as evidenced by vouchers Nos 7474 through 7568, submitted, examined, approved and payment ordered. Monthly reports of the streets, sanitation, health, water, police , fire and library departments for the month of December 1935, submitted and examined. Financial statement and statement of revenues and expenditures during the month of December 1935, submitted and examined. Bank statements in all accounts properly reconciled, submitted and examined. Mr. J.R.Lyles next presented petition signed by owners of three of the lots adjoining an alley running East and West in the block bounded by Tenth and Eleventh Streets and Elm and Myrtle Avenues, requesting that this alley be closed. Mr L.V.Burdett then appeared with the request that favorable action be taken on his petition to have this alley opened, agreeing at the same time to clear the alley as much as is necessary to meet his needs. Action deferred pending meeting of full Board. Request next received for permit to remodel the old Princess Theater in accordance with plans and specifications submitted, and on motion duly carried, same was ordered issued. Mr. J.L.Marentette, Manager of the Milane Theater, next requested the enforce- ment of "No Parking" regulations immediately in front of the Miiane Theater. Matter referred to Chief of Police for investigation and report. Request next received from D.L.Thrasher for reduction in unpaid taxes against Lot 7 Biock 4 Tier 44; also one from Miss Isabelle Simon requesting reduction in unpaid taxes against Lots 1 and 2 Block 10 Tier 6. No action pending decision as to establishment of Tax Adjustment Board as authorized by Act of 1935 Legislature. Mr. M.J.Lodge next requested consideration of the parking problem in front of his store on Second St. between Sanford Ave. and Palmetto Ave. with a view to the possible widening of Second Street at this location. Matter referred to Chief of Police for investigation and report. The Clerk next reported $8,150.00 on hand applicable to the Keefe , et al, judgments and $134.00 applicable to the judgment of the United Mutual Life Insurance Co. Thereupon Commissioner Shinholser moved that the foregoing amounts be paid. Communication received as information, coverage for the City Commissioners not being deemed necessary. There being no further business, the meeting adjourned, subject to call by the Mayor.
