08.20.90M I N U T E S HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD Committee Meeting August 20, 1990 5:00 P.M. Members Present: Cal Conklin, Chairman Ron Fiorelli Jerry Mills Hal Welch The meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Cal Conklin. at 5:10 P.M. Mr. Conklin apprised the Committee that at the meeting of August 9, 1990, Tommy Berdi of 1890 Saloon and Cattle Co. submitted an Application for Certificate of Appropriateness to restore the windows, change existing sign, paint the mansard roof, and paint the outside of the building at 119 South Magnolia Avenue. He further informed the Committee that the Board had approved the portion of the Application to restore the windows with the same type of historic materials originally used and to change the existing sign with the contingency to reposition the sign so it doesn't interfere with the window line. The Committee meet with Jeff Ward, Manager of the 1890 Saloon and Cattle Co., to discuss the portion of the Application that referred to painting the mansard roof and the outside of the building. A discussion was .held regarding the color selection. Mr. Ward stated the management would like to paint the brick white, the wood pink, and the trim maroon. Jerry Mills moved to approve the color selection for the painting of the outside of the building and deny the proposal to paint the mansard roof. Seconded by Ron Fiorelli and carried by unanimous vote. As there was no further business before the Committee, the meeting was adjourned at 5 :30 P.M. Respectfully submitted by: Penny L. Davis
