The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned
session at the City Hell in Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 O'Clock P.M. January 22nd.,
1935•

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
H.C.DuBose and Fred T.Williams presented request that the fire limits be
re- defined and upon motion duly carried, matter was referred to the City Planning
Commission for study and recommendation.
An Ordinance numbered 237 and entitled:
AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE SA"t OR FURNISHING OF INTOXICATING
LIQUORS IN THE CITY .OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, REQUIRING A PERMIT TO BE
OBTAINED FROM THE CITY COMMISSIONERS AND THE PAYMENT OF AN ANNUAL
LICENSE TAX TO ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF SELLING INTOXICATING LIQUORS;
PRESCRIBING THE AMOUNT OF SUCH LICENSE TAX AND THE LICENSE YEAR
THEREFOR; PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE VIOLATION OF THE PROVISIONS
OF THIS ORDINANCE, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH.
was next placed upon its first reading and read in full by the Clerk.
Thereupon Commissioner Speer moved that the rules be waived and that
said Ordinance No. 237 be placed upon its final passage and adoption.
Seconded by Commissioner Leffler.
Thereupon the question recurred upon the waivure of the rules.
The roll was called and the vote stands as follows:

Thereupon said ordinance No. 237 was placed upon its final passage and
adoption, the vote being as follows:

Thereupon the Chairman announced that the City Commission of the City
of Sanford, Florida, had passed and adopted said Ordinance No. 237 entitled.
AN ORDINANCE TO REGULATE THE SALE OR FURNISHING OF INTOXICATING LI-
quors in the City of Sanford , Florida, REQUIRING A PERMIT TO BE
OBTAINNED FROM THE CITY CCXIYISSIONERS AND THE PAYMENT OF AN ANNUAL
LICENSE TAX TO ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF SELLING INTOXICATING
LIQUORS; PRESCRIBING THE AMOUNT OF SUCH LICENSE TAX AND THE LICE+"NSE

On Notion duly carried, Ordinance No. 237 was ordered published in the
Sanford Herald.
G.W.Spencer next appeared with reference to a Fair to be presented on
Home Demonstration and Agricultural
February 12th. to 16th. by the recent y organized Seminole County—/Fair Association,Inc.
and requested on behalf of this Association permit for the Krause bettgp Shows to

make Sanford on these days as a part of this Fair.
Action deferred pending investigation of the claim that under a
recent Supreme Court ruling no license tax can be charged for these shows.
The meeting then adjourned.
