Williams Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Thereupon, the Commission proceeded to consider applications received for the sale of beer, wines and liquors under the provisions of Ordinance No. 243, The following applications for license to sell beer and wines were next pre- sented, carefully considered and on motion of Commissioner Shinholser, seconded by Commissioner Speer end carried, approved: E.H.Bennett 117 Magnolia Ave. N. Constantine 421 E. Ninth St. Will Alexander 1219 W. Thirteenth St. M F Ceresoli 310 Sanford Ave Robert Burns 412 Sanford Ave Price J Angel Sanford Ave & Geneva St. Elks Club E. First St. J. D. Dossey 107 3. First St. A & P Tea Co 323 E. First St. Stefanas Em Hazidrosos 215 E. First St. Sara Kenis 1515 Celery Ave J D Woodruff 104 % First St. D.'.7. Calhoun 425 E. Fourth St. Application next received from Harry Bradham for license to sell liquors to be consumed on the premises at 114 S Park Avenue. At this time the Clerk read additional complaints received to the issuance of this license from the Womans Missionary Society of the First Methodist Church, Mrs Susa �vight and Mars Lizzie Anna 1ilson. Attorney E.F.Housholder then appeared on behalf of the applicant and the matter was given thorough consideration both from the angle of Mr Bradham's com- pliance with the terms of the City Ordinance as well as the extent of the jurisdiction of the City under the State Law. Commissioner Leffler then moved that Mr Bradham be issued a license for the sale of liquor at the above location in sealed containers only. No second. Further discussion followed after which Commissioner Lehman moved that in view of the fact that there appeared to be no alternative, that the request of Harry Bradham be granted and the license issued. Seconded by Commissioner Shinholser and carried over the dissenting vote of Commissioner Leffler. Application next received from G.B.Ross for permit to operate a package liquor store at 106 W. First St.., and on motion of Commissioner Lehman, seconded by Commissioner Speer and carried, same was approved. Application enxt received from E.Z.Irwin for permit to sell liquor for consumption on the premises at 1216 N. Thirteenth St. requesting in addition that if this permit is refused, he be granted permit to sell beer at the above location. Thereupon in.view of the fact that this location is outside the pre- scribed zone and cannot be given the policing which would be necessary, Commissioner '436 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, September 30, 1935 , -19 Lehman moved that the permit to sell liquor be refused but that the permit to sell beer be granted. Seconded by Commissioner Shinholser and carried. Application next received from Jas. A.Walden for permit to sell liquor for consumption on the premises at 1210 ,V. `thirteenth St., and on motion of Commissioner Shinholser, seconded by Commissioner Speer and carried, the same action was taken as on tl:e application of E.Z.Irwin. Application next received from Kleenthis Ares to sell beer and wine at 801 W. Ninth St., and on motion of Commissioner Lehman, seconder by Commissioner Shinholser and carried, same was approved and permit granted. Commissioner Speer next introduced Resolution No.'476 and moved its passage and adoption. Seconded by Commissioner Shinholser and carried by the following vote of the CD Commission: Commissioner Dumas Aye if Leffler Aye It Lehman Aye It Shinholser Aye it Speer Aye said resolution No. 476 being in words and figures as follows: RESOLUTION NO. 476 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE APPROPRIATING ANY UNEXPENDED CASH SURPLUS FISCAL YEAR 1934 -1935 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR x,935 -1936 FOR USE AND OPERATING EXPENSES OF SAID CITY. WHEREAS the City Commission of the City of CITY OF SANFORD, FLORIDA, ON HAND AT THE END OF THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT OF SAID FOR THE ORDINARY PURPOSES 6anford, Florida, deems it necessary, expedient and for the best interests of said City that any unexpended cash surplus as of September 30, 1935 of the revenues of said City for the fiscal year 1934 -1935 be appro- priated for the ordinary purposes and operating expenses of said City in the budget for the fiscal year 1935 -1936• NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, that any unexpended cash surplus as of September 30, 1935, of the revenues of said City for the fiscal year of 1934 -1935 be and the same is hereby appropriated to the Department of General Government of said City for the ordinary purposes and operat- ing expenses of said City for the fiscal year 1935 -1936, and said cash surplus shall be incorporated in the Budget of revenues and expenditures of said City for said fiscal year 1935 -1936 for the ordinary purposes and operating expenses of said City. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption. Passed and adopted this 30th day of September , 1935. Attest: F. S. Lamson City Clerk.
