1018351 I I 1 1 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, October 18 at 7 :30 P M-19 35 The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in adjourned seesion at the City Hall_in the City of Sanford, Florida at 7 :30 O'Clock P.M.October 18, 1935 Present: Commissioner T.L.Dumas,.Mayor. " W.A.Leffler " H.J.Lehman " V.A.Speer City Attorney Fred R.Wilson City Clerk F.S.Lamson. Chief of Police R.G. Williams Absent: Commissioner S.O.Shinholser. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. Application from J A Hickox for permit to erect galvanized iron building on the west side of French Ave. immediately south of the Farmer's Exchange property, to be used as a public garage and repair shop. Application approved, provided requirements as to distance from property line, construction of floor and construction of driveway are complied with. Consideration next given to application of Martin F Ceresoli and Nick Consta.ntince for permit to operate "package" liquor store at 312 Sanford Avenue, and. on favorable recommendation of the chief of police, same was approved and permit granted. Request next received from R.B.Wight for permit to demolish old dilapidated frame house on Lot 1 Block 7 Tier 11, and on motion duly carried,same was approved. City Attorney Wilson next reported that the State Supreme Court had ruled against the City in the action brought to prevent the sale under execution of various parcels of City owned property to satisfy judgment of Augustus T.Ashton. Thereupon Commissioner Leffler moved that the City.Attorney be instructed to take action necessary to set this sale aside . Seconded by Commissioner Lehman and carried. The Commission next proceeded to a discussion of the new State Law licensing Slot machines, also to ways and means of raising revenues to offset losses due to the adoption ofthe Homestead Exemption Amendment,after which the meeting adjourned to meet again at 1.
