11063545S MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, November 6, 12 o'clock nook 35. The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Session at the City Hall inSanford, Florida, at 12 o'clock Noon, November 6th, 1935, for the purpose of canvassing the election returns of the Municipal Primary Election held November 5th, 1935. Present: Commissioner T. L. Dumas, Mayor " W. A. Leffler " H. J. Lehman " S. 04 Shinholser " V. A•Speer CityClerk F. S. Lamson. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. The Chairman then announced that due to the inability of P. Bayard Smith and W. M. McKinnon to serve as Inspectors of the Municipal Primary Election of November 5th, E. F. Lane and F. S• Verney had been appointed in their stead. Action _approved. Thereupon the Commission proceeded to canvass the returns of the Municipal Primary Election held on November 5th, 1935, as made by theClerk and Inspectors of said Election, as follows: For City Commissioner, Group No. 1: For Frank L. Miller 276 votes For Perry N. Whitehurst 311 votes For City Commissioner, Group No. 2: For W. R. Dupree 274 votes For W. D. Hofmann 95 votes For Vivian A. Speer 229 votes For Chas. F. Steenworth 1 vote Mutulated ballots thrown out 8 Total Votes Cast 607 Thereupon Commissioner Speer moved that the returns of the Clerk and Inspectors of the Municipal Primary Election of November 5th, 1935, be accepted. Seconded by Commissioner Shinholser and carried. Thereupon Perry N. Whitehurst was de olared to be the regularly elected nominee in Group No. 1 and W. R.Dupree the regularly elected nominee in Group No. 2, for the position of City Commissioner of the City of Sanford, Florida, to be voted upon at the General Municipal Election to be held December 3rd, 153 5. Payment of $5.00 to each of the inspectors and the clerk of the Municipal Primary`Electi held on November 5th, 1935, was next approved, after which the meeting adjourned.
