The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Adjourned Regular Session at th
City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 o'clock P. M., November 12th, 1935.

Meeting called to order by the Chairman.
Current invoices and payrolls for the month of October, 1935, properly audited and vouchere
as evidenced by vouchers Nos. 7323 through 7+05, submitted, examined, approved and payment ord
Monthly reports of the streets, sanitation, health, water, police, fire and library depart-
ments for the month of October, 1935, submitted and examined.
Financial statement and statement of revenues and expenditures during the month of October,
1935, submitted and examined.
Bank statements in all accounts, properly reconciled, submitted and examined.
Minutes of regular meeting of October 28th, adjourned meeting of October 29th, special
meeting of November 6th and regular meeting of November 11th, 1935, read and approved.
Application next received from L. F. Boyle, Commander of the Campbell Lossing Post,
merican Legion, for a, donation to assist in defraying the cost of transportation of a, field gun
to be set up on the AmericEn Legion grounds at the corner of Seminole Boulevard and Myrtle Ave.,
it appearing that the bulk of the funds necessary had been rp.ised by popular subscription.
After considerable discussion, Commissioner Lehman moved that the City contribute $25.00
for this purpose.
Seconded by Commissioner Speer and carried.
Representatives of the River Valley Transportation Company next presented a request to
ease the old dock at the foot of Myrtle Avenue formerly occupied by the Winn & Lovett Grocery Co.,
ffering to pay a rental of $50.00 per month for the first year and $30.00 per month thereafter,
he City to make the necessary alterations and repairs to allow trucks to be loaded and unloaded
ff of the Boulevard.
Matter taken under advisement.
Earl Varn, representing the Sanford Junior Chamber of Commerce, next discussed the need for
Tourist Camp in Sanford and requested the City Commission to designate a location for this pur-
ose.
Matter referred back to the Junior Chamber of Commerce with the request that a Committee be
ppointed to select two or three sites for consideration by the City Commission.
Request next received from H. B. Pope to have white way post at the S. W. corner of Park
venue and 2nd Street removed due to it interfering with the gasoline filling station being con-
tructed at this location.
Thereupon Commissioner Lehman moved that the post be removed, provided Mr. Pope maintain a
ight at this location.
Seconded by Commissioner 'peer and carried.
Requests next received fromH. McLaulin, Sr., to remove maple tree from -in front of Lot 9
lk 5 Tr 4, Mr. Tillis to remove oak tree from in front of Lot 1 Blk 13 Tr 7, and Mrs.Thornton
0 remove two palmetto trees from in front of the S.W.J of Blk 2 Tr 19, and on motion of

Commissioner Speer, seconded by Commissioner Leffler and carried, permission granted.
On motion duly carried, the Commission next approved suspension of $5.00 of the fineof
Esop Wooten, Case No. 21794, sentenced in the Municipal Court to pay a fineof $10.00 or serve
30 days, it appearing that this prisoner had. served one -half of his sentence and then paid
$5.00 on the fine.
Monthly report of City Physician Tola.r next presented and ordered filed.
Bill of Dr. C. L. Park for $10.00, covering services rendered in administering anesthetic
to "Spec" Green, city prisoner shot while resisting arrest, next presented, and on motion of
Commissioner Lehman, seconded by Commissioner Shinholser and.carried, same was gproved and
ordered paid.
The Clerk next reported that the Standard Accident Insurance Company had notified the
City of their intention to cancel the Workmen's Compensation Insurance carried on the City's
employees.
Communication then read from H. C. Hare Co., agents for the Continental Casualty Co.,
with whom insurance on the City's automotive equipment is carried, agreeing to carry the
Workmen's Compensation Insurance provided public liability insurance is taken out at the same
time.
Matter taken under consideration.
Offer next received from J. A. Benson to purchase old unused frame building located on
the Municipal Golf Course at a price of $50.00, and on motion dlly carried, same was accepted,
it appearing that the structure is a fire hazard and of no use to the City.
Bills of City Attorney Wilson totalling $303.60, covering services and expenses to
September 30th, in connection with the Ashton suits, next presented and on motion of
Commissioner Leffer, seconded by Commissioner Lehman and carried, same were approved and
ordered paid.

The City Commission of the City of Sanf ord,Florida, met in regular session at the City
Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida, at 7:30 o'clock ? -. M., November 25th, 1935, with
Mayor T. L. Dumas and City Clerk F.S. Lamson in attendance, but due to a lack of a quorum,
immediately adjourned to meet again at 7:30 o'clock P. M., November 26th, 1935.
