December 26 1933 AS TO THE LICENSE TAX IMPOSED UPON MERCHANTS AND RESTAURANTS BY SECTION 5 OF SAID ORDINANCE 223 AND TO PROVIDE FOR THE INSPECTION OF STOCKS OF MERCHANDISE AFTER THE ISSUANCE OF LICENSE, TO DETERMINE THE VALUE THEREOF AND REQUIRE THE PROCUREMENT OF A LICENSE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE VALUE OF SUCH STOCK SO DETERMINED AND TO PROVIDE PENALTY FOR FAILURE TO OBTAIN LICENSE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE VALUE OF SUCH STOCK SO DETERMINED, AND TO MAKE THIS ORDINANCE EFFECTIVE AS of OCTOBER 1ST, 1933-11 On motion duly carried, Ordinance No. 224 was ordered POSTED at the front door of the City Hall in the City of Sanford, Florida. Commissioner Lehman next moved that after thirty days from date, the pro- visions of License Ordinances Nos. 223 and 224 be strictly enforced by the Police Department; and each year hereafter after 60 days from the lst of October. Seconded by Commissioner Dumas and carried. Commissioner Leffler next moved that the employment of Mrs. F. P. Rines as Assistant Librarian at the Sanford Public Library be continued through the months of January and February, 1934. Seconded by Commissioner Shinholser and carried. The Committee appointed to study the matter of housing the City prisoners next reported that the Board of County Commissioners had agreed to continue allowing the City prisoners to be housed in the County Jail provided the City pays $65.00 per month for this privilege and will agree to pay 50 percent of all expenses of the County Jail for the year in excess of $1500.00, this arrangement to be effective as of December 1st, 1933. City. Thereupon Commissioner Lehman moved that the proposition be accepted by the Seconded by Commissioner Leffler and carried. Communication read from Bauman Feed & Supply Co. objecting to applying checks in payment of-purchases from this company against delinquent personal taxes of Bauman Bros., Inc., and on motion of Commissioner Dumas, seconded by Commissioner Shinholser and carried, same was referred to the City Attorney for such attention as is necessary. Consideration was next given to the matter of carrying on the foreclosure of delinquent tax certificates. A committee comprising Commissioners Dumas, Leffler, Lehman and Shinholser was then appointed to confer with the Board of County Commissioners with a view to having the County join with the City in cases where there are both City and County tax certificates out- standing against the property, the City and County to share alike in the proceeds from such suit s . Instructions next issued to make December payments of $53.33 and $50.00, respectively, to the Seminole County Chamber of Commerce and Sanford Country Club; $250.00 to apply on judgment of DeCottes and Boggs, and $200.00 to apply on judgment of United Mutual Life Insurance Co., after which the meeting adjourned.
