Other Business (a) Code Enforcement - All members are encouraged to turn in potential code violations in writing to Penny Turner at .the close of the meeting. M I N U T E S SPECIAL HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD MEETING December 13, 1993 5 :30 P.M. City Commission Conference Room City Hall, Sanford, Florida Members Present: Kevin Stubbs, Chairman Elizabeth Simons Kay Bartholomew Helen Stairs Altermese Bentley Laura Straehla Cal Conklin Members Absent: Chris Cranias Monte Olinger Jerry Mills 011ie Williams Others In Attendance: Penny Turner, Secretary The Meeting was called to order by the Chairman, Kevin Stubbs, at 5:35 P.M. Kevin O'Conner, was present and resubmitted an Application for Certificate of Appropriateness to attach a wall sign to the building at 101 East First Street, which was denied at the Meeting held December 2, 1993. Cal Conklin moved to approve the Application for Certificate of Appropriateness to attach temporary window signs to the building at 101 East First Street, with a restriction that the signs be reviewed/ removed after one year. The signs will be white vinyl letters on the outside of the second floor windows (one on the First Street side and one on the Park Avenue side of the building). The window sign shall not exceed 50% of the window area. Seconded by Kay Bartholomew and carried by unanimous vote. Mr. Conklin requested the Chairman send an official notice to Reverend Bobby Player, Minister of Mount Calvary Baptist Church, offering the Board's support and guidance in the Ministerial Association's endeavors to renovate the "Star Theater" on West 13th Street. Mr. Stubbs reminded the Board that the City Commission is holding the first reading for the adoption of the architectural regulations for the Residential Historic District at 7:00 P.M. this evening,. in the City Commission Chambers. The second and final reading will be held on December 27th at that same time. There being no further business before the Board, the Meeting was adjourned at 6 :00 P.M.
