060434['21 66 MINUTES CITY COMMISSION, SANFORD, FLORIDA, Special Called Meeting 1934 June , : The City Commission of the City of Sanford, Florida, met in Special Called Session at the City Hall in Sanford, Florida, at 1:50 O'Clock P.M. June 4, 194. Present: Commissioner W.A.Lefler, Mayor. Commissioner T.L.Dumas Commissioner H.J.Lehman Commissioner S.O.Shinholser City Attorney Fred R.Wilson City Clerk F.S.Lamson Absent: Commissioner V.A.Speer. Meeting called to order by the Chairman. The Chairman then announced that the meeting was called for the purpose of considering ways and,means with a view to securing an adjustment of the City's bonded debt under the provisions of the Wilcox Municipal Bankruptcy Bill. Before proceeding with this business, the Commission heard Mr. R.B.Wight who presented plans for a dock and warehouse proposed to be constructed by Winn & Lovett Grocery Company on the property recently leased from the City by this Company and lying immediately East of that owned by IIrs Mary B.H.Herring. After careful consideration of the plans as presented, Commissioner Dumas moved that they be approved. Seconded by Commissioner Shinholser and carried. Commissioner Shinholser then moved that the City waive all objections to the construction of this dock and that the Mayor and Clerk be authorized to wa_ivure execute such /on the part of the City. Bill. Seconded by Commissioner Dumas and carried. The Commission then proceeded to, a study of the Wilcox I:Iunicipal Bankruptcy Thereupon City Attorney Wilson was instructed to notify the representatives of the Bondholders Protective Committee of the City's desire to avail itself of the benefits of this bill and request any su Zestions they may have as to the best method to pursue. S.G.Gray of the firm of Pentland,Gray and 11oore, Certified Public Accountants and City Auditors, next reported the feasibility of obtaining information as to the City's ability to pay, based upon a schedule prepared by the Florida League of Municipalities, and estimating the total cost of such a survey not to exceed $500.00 Thereupon Mr. Gray was authorized to proceed with the preliminary stages of obtaining this information, all clerical work to be handled through the City Clerk's office.
