DuBose came before the Council and asked the City Council to pave sixth street from Oak Avenue to alley West being one half block City using brick that Mr Woodruff has' on hand a -415.00 per thousand amount of brick to apply on their proportion of laying. On motion GOO D. Bishop seconded by Jno Adams and carried said proposition was acoop- tOd4r E. A. Bishop, offerred resoultion, outlining additional duties to be performed by Chief of Fire Department of the City of Sanford, Fla. as ,follows; - WHEREAS: , ther4 is at present no system in vogue by which it can be determined to what extent the pumping facilities and fire hydrants ,are be maintained to meet any fire emergencies ties in the City, and , WHEREAS-, the present system of notifying the pumping station of the existence of a fire has proven inadequate, THEREFORE be it reeloved that the following regulations be hereby authorized and the Chief of the Fire Dept. empowered and required to execute same. - 1. A weekly inspeotion of the equipment of the pumpins station, with a view of determining the fitness thereof, shall be made and a written report of each such inspection renedered the City Council at its regular meeting next following Game. S. A fuse alarm shall be sounded at least semi - weekly, at which time the fire fighting equipment chall be connected to the fire hydrants throughout the City in such order that all of them shall be used from time to time with a view of ascer- taining the condition of each and every hydrant as well as the water pressure furnished by the pumping station, and a written report of the findings at the time of each such alarm shall be made and rendered to the City Council at its regular meeting next &Uxx following same. 3 An electrical device shall be installed which shall be controlled by a switch at the Fire Sattion and which will give notice , either by red lights, bel s or other adequate signals at the pumpins station of the necessity for fire fighti g pressure.
