Meeting called to order at Eight 8. M. by Mayor H R Stevens; pre sett : H. R. Stevens
'S. 0. Chase C.E. Henry Commissioners and G. A. Abbott City Manager;minutes of last meet-
ing read and approved.
Communication from S.O.Shinholser relative to moving building from corner of
Commercial St and Palmetto Ave to a point west Elm Ave and South Side First Street
was read and the Auditor & Cierk was authorized to give Nrr Shinholser permit to move
same over route outlined in his communication on his giving a bond in the sum of
$250.00 and on condition that he is to push the work by using day and night crews
limited to one week's time to complete the job.
Communication from S• 0. Shinholser relative to selling the City old plaster from
Hotel Carnes read and ordered filed.
Communication from Mr W-L Harvey requesting permit to move building from a poilt
on French Ave to Poplar Ave. The Auditor & Clark was authorized to issue permit to
Mr Harvey on condition of his giving a bond in the sum of $250.00 and limiting him to
one weeks time to complete job.
Communication from Mr P D Cobb asking permit to move Garage from the south
side of First Street near Mulberry Ave. to a point on the north bide of First Street
The Auditor x Clerk was authorized to issue permit to Mr Cobb on condition that Said
Garage is not to be placed on City property.
Communication from A.K. Powers Atty for J, H Troutman was read and ordered
filed without action.
Petition from a nuafoer of residents and property owners on Palmetto Ave.
requesting that the Commission take steps to hard surface same was was read and on
motion duly seconded and passed the City Engineer, F. T.Williams was instructed to pre -
gaZ3 estimates and specifications for this work and report at next meeting of the Com-
missions
Communications from various cities relative to ordinances controlling
the sale of milk or dairy products were read and referred to City Atty. with instruct-
ions to prepare a suitable ordinance for the control of these watters in the City of
Sanford.
Communication from Mr Alfred Foster,City Collector relative to author-
izing the Saminole County Abstract Co to make notations against tax certificates now
on file in Clerk of the Circuit Court's office showing the latest grantee and recommend-
ing preparation of a form for the Clerk of the Court to notify the City Tax Assessor of
each transfer of City property to the end that City Tax books may always be brought
down to date. j0n motion of S. 0. Chase, seconded by C.E. Henry and duly passed, the Auditor
and Clerk was authorized to make a suitable arrangement with the Clerk of the Circuit
Court to get this information.

Communication from F. T. T,'illiams, City Engineer relative to putting in catch basins
at corner of Fourth Street and park Ave.and Oak Ave. was read and his reco=,endations
were accepted and the matter was referred back to Mr Williams for final action.
Communication from F. T. Williams, City Engineer relative to grade on French Ave.
abutting on Mrs Lake's property was read and ordered filed.
Communication from City Manager relative to Hy Caldsell inclosing certain City
property on Orange Ave. was read and ordered filed.
Communication from City Manager relative to Telephone Co.cutting trees on French
Ave was read and ordered filed..
Communication from City Manager relative to over - crowding at the Star Theater
was read and referred to Mayor H. R. Stevens for investigation.
Communication from the Lake Front Improvement Co. relative to Bulkhead assess-
ment against their property and askin certain concession was read and referred to the
City Attorney for investigation and report.
Report from City Manager in the matter of lighting Mellonville and Celery Ave.
was read ;and the matter laid over until next meeting.
The Auditor and Clerk reporting a sufficient balance of cash now in the Banks
to the City's credit to admit of a sum of $10,000 or $12.000 being put on time Depos-
it, it was moved by S. 0. Chase, seconded by C.E. Henry that the Auditor & Clerk be author-
ized to transfer such funds to regular savings account distributing equally among
the three City Depositories. The same was passed unanimously.
It was moved by C. E. Henry and seconded by S-0-Chase that the services of
Special Investigator John A. Crocker be and they are hereby dispensed with and the
Auditor and Clerk is authorized to draw a warrant for $136.59 in payment of his ex-
penses and services to date. Same was duly passed.
It was moved by S. 0. Chase and seconded by C.E. Henry that the City E=ngineer4;
F. T.PJilliams proceed to procure material and make preparations to lay sewer for Block
10 and 11 Tier 9 E.R. Trefford's Map of Sanford,provided that Mr J, Musson finance the
proposition. Same was duly passed.
It was moved by C.E. Henry and seconded by S. 0. Chase that the City Engineer %
proceed to procure material and make preparations.for drainage outlet for north half
of Block Z City of Sanford. Sarre was duly passed.
The City Attorney was instructed to draft ordinance ordering the foregoing
improvements.
The resignation of G. A. Abbott as City Manager was presented and on motion
of S.O. Chase and seconded by C.E. Henry his resignation was duly accepted to take ef-
fect at once and the Auditor and Clerk was authorized to draw a warrant for 000.00
in favor of G. A• Abbott as salary for June upon receipt of his report and all records
papers belonging to the City now in his possession and after duly auditing his account
to date. Same was passed unanimously.
The following warrants were read and Approved and t ba Auditor and Clerk
authorized to draw checks for payment of same;
