Jerry Jones came before the Board relative to certain encroachments said to have
been aa.de on lot 6, Rands Addition to Sanford by the A. C. L. Ry. and the City, the natter
�4as referred to the City Attorney and City Engineer for investigation.
Communication from Tucker, Robinson & Co. , Toledo Ohio relative to sale of over Lain
City Bonds maturing in 1521 - 1922 was read and the Auditor and'Clark was instructed to
write them and ascertain at ihat prices they would sell same-
Communication from S.P :iaines, :;Iunicipal Judge enclosing check for `127.'0 return of
fees in excess of salary for :gay was read and ordered filed.
Communication from: Tlahoney- W1_dker Co.relative to moving the old Walker building on
Park Ave north of County Court House was read and Auditor & Clerk authorized to issue
permit for same.
Communication from F. T.'>illiams City Engineer giving estimatelcost of paving sever
Streats and Avenues now in contemplation by the City Commission was read and ordered file
G.17. Cook came before the Commission asking; souse concessions on tax certificates

457 - 1516- and the Auditor & Clark was instructed to authorize the Clark of the Cir-
cuit Court to accept settlement of same on payment of the face cl certificates plus costs
and charges, omitting the interest on sarrie.
The City Mlanagar was authorized to have a telephone installed in the Manager l s
residence at the expense of the City.
Communication from City Engineer relative to drainage on French Ave near L.E.V,hite'ls

171-TIEREAS, Section 3G of Chapter 8361 of the Lays of the State of Florida, requires
the City Commission of the City of Sanford to appoint a City Manager who shall be the ad-
ministrative head of the municipal Government under the direction and supervision of the
City Comn.i ssion, and,
1,'HEREAs this -is an emergancy measure necessary for the usual daily operation of
the Municipal Government of the City of Sanford,
' I101'': THERZFORE, BE IT "RESOLVED BY THE CITY CO1.11ISSION OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,
FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. That C.J. Ryan, be anal he is hereby appointed City Manaber of the City
of Sanford Florida,to be. the administrative head of the Municipal Government of the City
of Sanford,under the direction and supervision of the City Conunission.
SECTION . 2 That C. J. Ryan shall hold the office of City t;aliager of the City of
Danford, Florida, a the pleasure of the City Commission of the City of Sanford Florida.

on the 28 day of June 1920 and on vote the same was unanimously passed as follows

Mr C.J.Ryan duly filed his acceptance of the appointcrent as City Manager and took I'll
the oath of office and entered upon the duties of same.
John Turner cane before the Commission asking adjustment relative to injuries sus-
tained by horse falling in manhole on Palmetto Ave-and the Commission alloyed him damages
in the sum of .650.00 and authorized the Auditor & Clerk to pay same from the Petty Cash
fund.
Sealed bids for the construction of sewer in Block 9 Tier & and Blocks 10 - 11
and 12 in Tier 9 were opened and read. The bid of tirilliarr,s & Co. being t1z lowest bid
it was moved by S. 0. phase, saconded by C.E. Henry that same b�-' and it is hereby accepted
and the City Attorney was instructed to draw contract covarinb same

Hundred Forty -five Feet, to Furnish a Drainage Outlet for Block Z and to Divert the Drair.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF SANFORD,FLORIDA.

SECTION 3. That this Ordinance is declared to b e an emergency rte asure for the imme-
diate preservation of public health and property,and shall take effect from and after the
data of its passage.
SECTION 4. That this Ordinance shall be published once,within ten days after its
