102221m 0 0 m w a A SPECIAL MEETING OF CITY COLUJISSION OCTOBER 22, 192 Special Meeting called to order by H.R.Stevens, Mayor, for thepurpose of check- ing up petitions for H.R.Stevens and Forrest Lake as candidates for City Commissioner, Present: H.H.�t; ens, Mayor, S.O.Chase, C.E.Henry, Commissioners, C.J.Ryan, City Manager and G G Herring , City Attorney. Petitions were checked up and it was found that H.R.Stevens and Forrest Lake had the required number of signers on their petitions to qualify them as candidates for the Commission. The following resolution was adopted RESOLUTION Resolution declaring it not necessary to hold a Primary Election to Nominate cmdidates for the office of City Commissioner of the City of Sanford, Plorida, deel<4ring H.R.Stevens and Forrest Lake the nominees for the office of City Commissioner of the City of Sanford, Floriada; and authorizing and directing that City Auditor and Clerk, upon the filing of acceptance by said nomir_ess within the time prescribed by Law, to cause the names of H R atevens and Forrest Lake to be printed upon the official ballot to be used in the lvunicipal Election to be held on the First Tuesday after the first 14onday in December A.D.1921 U, EREAS, it will be necessary to hold a Municipal election on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in .December A D 1921, to elect a City Commissioner to fill the vacancy made by the expiration of the term of office of one of the present City Com- missioners, and 10HEREAS, Under the provisions of Section 217 of the Charter of the City of Sanford, Florida, the date for filing petitions by dandidates for the office of City Commis loner of the City of Sanford, Florida, has passed, and 7dfHEREA6, petitions have been filed with the City Auditor and Clerk conforming to the requirements of law nominating H R Stevnes and Forrest Lake for the office of City Commissioner of the City of Sanford, Florida, and. '.'HE-3EAS, under the provisions of Section 219 of the Charter of the City of Sanford Florida, where leas than three candidates file their petitions it is not necessary to hold a Primary Election, and it is made the duty of the City Commission to declare the pe-son or persons who have filed petitions that conform to the requirements of law in shch cases made and provided, as the nominee or nominees for the office of City Commissioner at the Regular Municipal Election next ensuing, NOW THERE`ORE. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISz�ICN OF THE CITY OF SANFORD? FLORIDA. That it is not necessary to hold a Primary Election to determine the candidates for the office Of City Commissioner of the City of Danford, Florida , And.
