April A. D .1922, duly passed and adopted ay' certain ordinance entitled:
"An ordinance Amending Sections 7,97,164,206,and 217; and Repealing Section

`1hereas, said Ordina.nce.r provides for the Amendment of Sec 7 Sec 97
Sec. 164; Sec. 206; and Sec 217, and the repeal of Sec. 174 of the charter under
which the City of Sanford, Florida, is now operating and functioning, and

that any proposed amendment of said charter, shall be submitted for approval or re-
jection to the electors of the City of Sanford, Florida, at an election duly called
and held for said purpose.

Lake, as Commissioners of the City of Sanford, Florida, composing and comprising the

to determine the question by the referendum vote of a majority of the elect-
ors of said City qualified, to vote, participating in said election, whether
the amendments of the present charter of the City of Sanford, Florida, proposed
by the aforesaid ordinance shall be adopted and approved, either in whdle or
in part.

C E Henry, S 0 Chase, and Forrest Lake, as the City Commission of the City
of Sanford, Florida, do hereby appoint V.E.Douglass, 0 P Herndon_, and R.C.Maxwell

sit eration be given to placing the south half of Con .-:ercial Ave. for the length
of four blocks, beginning at Elm Ave. and running West to Holly Ave, in the sched-
ule of brick pavir_r contemplated in the coming bond election. This request was
based on the fact that there is now being handled on this street and in the lim-
its named, from fifty to sever_ty -f_ive thousand tors of freight annually, and
that such a movement is Wprthy of better facilities than now exist. Also the
fact wao brought to attention that this street offers the greatest advantages to
investors seekinm warehoU.sr: or factory sites and the above named tonnage will
be very largely increased within the next very few ,years, making such an improve-
ment as requested a matter of necessity. This beinz the case it would seem like
an oversight to allow this matter to go without attention at the present time.
The Commission assured Mr Bishop and IIr 3hinholser that they would give
the matter their best attention_.
On motion duly passed the City Auditor Cc Clerk was instructed to aut�or-
ize the Clerk of the Circuit Court to accept settlement of the following Tag
Certificates on payment of the face of .certificates plus costs, omitting
interest thereon_.

BE IT FURTHER 2ES OL TED. That if the sidewalks herein described be not construct-
ed within sixty days from the service of notice provided in the preceding paragraph,
The City Manager shall proceed, by contract, to construct said sidewalks, at the
expense of the owner or owners of the property abutting thereon.
The foregoing resolution was unanimously adopted by the City Commission of
the City of Sanford., Florida, this 10th day of April A.D.1922.
